All my years in construction...having to find obscure and indirect ways to obtain measurements and I didn't figure this out on my own.
Maybe I need Ginko Biloba.

Well... The normal number is 1.991 And I agree that should leave the piston about .100 in the hole.... And with a standard open chamber iron head that puts you around 8.5-1
