Just picked this up at the welding shop. The cheapest I can find and military specification. Nine dollars.

Too bad they don’t make every part you need.

Attempting to make the lip of my package tray. Not pretty but also not seen. Thoughts?

Another test fit of the quarter panel with the new package tray extension and lower back window piece. I will get to test fitting the new Dutchman panel with the new passenger quarter and the original drivers.

I have been reading and hearing a lot of people say that all AMD metal should be media blasted before using. I guess people are saying there’s rust under the EDP coating. Does anyone agree or know about this?

I didn't have or see any issues with the AMD panels and did nothing special to prep mine other than scuffing before epoxy.

Attempting to fix this upper trunk support/deck lid support. I wish they made as many parts for a Coronet as they do a Charger. Oh well, this will work for now. Maybe in a few years AMD will make these parts.

Working on the starter. Is this normal wear? and if so, should I replace any of these copper parts?

Normal to a point from cranking with a low battery in most cases, or a sticking/ dragging solenoid spool and arcing due to week contacting. As "kids" we'd crank the cable stud as hard as we could to get a new fresh spot so our cars would start.

Oh.. and yes you either need to clean them up smooth or replace them. Yours don't look far away from a no start..

This is more what I would call normal for a quick clean up and reuse..

Thank you dadsbee. I’ll clean these up. I looked online for the starter cable bolt but didn’t see anything. Do you know if these are available aftermarket?

Love your work BAFRAID, keep it up.. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
Thank you Chargerjase!! It’s been fun, challenging and a learning experience. So good to see the Bee becoming whole again.

More of a general statement here but if you guys have not heard of or seen the Facebook page called RESCUED RUST check it out! I’ve seen quite a few cheap Mopar projects there. Basically a webpage where people can sell cars they have or take pictures of and try to save cars they see in fields or junk yards.

Starter is coming along. I was reading about the finishing on the starter and it said to use 30° gloss black. I’m not sure what that is exactly but I did use gloss black and the nose is aluminum.

This is one of the cars on Rusted Rescue. Nothing super special but a good project and first car for a kid.
