70 Charger R/T SE Daytona sunroof project is starting soon.

So the first order of business is to give the plum crazy purple Charger R/T a nose job. I removed the standard 70 Charger front loop bumper, this car isn't going to be needing that anymore! Then I went up in the loft and got the right front fender I purchased for the car and put it on. I put on the beautiful Texas hood I had put aside for the project, and I used a hammer and dolly to knock out a crease in the driver's side front fender.

I already cut off the rear quarters and fitted a pair of classic body designs rear quarters and an AMD Dutch panel. I have to take them back off to rust proof the wheel houses, inner rocker panels and trunk extensions all of which are original and in great shape, before welding the quarter panels and Dutch panel in permanently.

It's official the purple Charger R/T is in the garage! The new lift is built and the Charger R/T V code car is in the lift and my Challenger convertible is underneath it. The sunroof Daytona has officially begun! A great day with great friends! Nothing better than that!

These lifts have been a real game changer for the garage! My friends rock x 5! I can't thank them enough!

The floors, frame rails and rocker panels are California rock solid. I already installed the 4 speed floor hump. I dug this out of the loft!

I dug out some more nose pieces, steel as original headlight bucket assemblies vacuum actuators, brackets that attach the nosecone assembly to the radiator support and front valance pan, latch tray in steel as original, grille frame and grille mesh, and fender scoops.

Tonight after my 12 hour shift, I started drinking beer and decided that it would be a good idea to start drilling holes in the tops of perfectly good 70 Charger fenders!

I got out of control with the drill and the perfect 70 Charger Texas rust free hood wasn't spared either!

The original sunroof Daytona has factory hood pins on it,that's why I drilled the hood, but I can't tell from the photos of the car which way they were installed. The bezels on the original 69 Daytona Chargers were I installed in a cross pattern with the screws, but on factory 70 Charger cars they were not installed in the cross pattern.

In this crate we have what is a one of almost none, you can probably count all of them that exist on one hand! Lol it is a front valance pan made exclusively for a 70 Charger R/T Daytona! Tomorrow I will bust open the crate and show the Mopar world what a 70 Charger Daytona front valance pan looks like! That's it for today! After working a 12 hour day I spent time working on the car! What's cooler than that!

Blood, sweat and beers, that's what it takes to build these cars, and tonight I got all three in! I cut and modified the front fenders to receive the steel Daytona front valance pan, and.it is a big awkward piece of steel to install by yourself! I put it on the car,and the bottom of the radiator support was bent forward just enough to keep the valance pan from lining up correctly with the fenders so when I released the vise grip pliers to take it back down to tweak the radiator support, it slipped out of my hands and rather than let the valance pan hit the floor, I caught it, but not without incurring an injury! I am numbing the pain with Budweiser! Lol it's a fragle piece and I didn't want to see it get damaged! Plastic parts some people use on their wing cars are lighter and easier to install, but don't have the longevity of as original steel pieces!

That's a9 beer wound, more if needed!

First I marked and cut each front fender in the correct spot, then I used two pairs of wide grip flat jaw vise grip pliers to make the 90 degree bend on each fender.

Next I performed the same procedure on the passenger's side fender. I am pleased with the fitment of the front valance pan!
