did maw mopar ever use a 950 CFM 3bbl holley on anything?
 
I remember a '69 GTX with one of those... It was "the car to beat" back in the day...
 
i was looking on line just to get an idea what to ask for it..... holy moly folks want a ton of money for these things.
 
Back in the 80's I had one on a 383 in my 66' Satellite. There were probably better options for that motor but the Cool factor was through the roof.
 
I came across one in the 80's as well, thought it was a 1050, anyways I ran it on my stock street/strip 340 Cuda, ran fine but crap on the hit at the track over the 750DP.

They came in two sizes. If you see an intake with the secondary divider cast with a gap, you have a winner. I have a friend that runs one in MANDRA here in Maryland on a 440 Cuda. He has a bit of historical knowledge. Always an aftermarket carb, the development was prompted by the rulmakers beating up Mopar, as usual. I don't know the details.


 
I know someone who ran one on an A12 roadrunner way back when with a TM7 and 4.56 gears. It was also one of those king of the hill cars.
 
It is the smaller 950 CFM
The 1050 had annular boosters.
Difficult carb to get O2's right.
I think they had an one off vac diaphragm..
 
As I recall, in the '70's the 3 BBL had very mixed reviews. I knew one guy with a 950, I'm pretty sure my 3310 on my low perf 383 would easily handle him. IIRC they were difficult to get tuned and needed the correct manifold to actually work well. At the time not many folks did.

I run a 1050 three barrel on my bracket 451 and love it, they made 3 different sizes in the holleys 850, 950, and 1050, I have one if each, the diaphram is same as six pack. Now I think Carter only made one size three barrel afb and I think it was 1000 cfm
 
Carter did make a 3 bbl for a Pontiac, but it was less than 1000 cfm.

wana swap the 850 for my 950? .... lol

So if you ran dual carbs, would it still be a 6 bbl ?

There is a picture on FABO by member Bewy who shows AVS like discharge bars in the secondary side for the IIRC, a 1050.
