Are VIN or serial numbers stamped on the rear ends somewhere?

I have a ’76 Fury Sport with an 8-1/4 inch rear end. The gear ratio tag is the only stamped number I can find. Is the VIN, serial number, date code, or other stamped ID numbers on there somewhere?

I was wondering the same thing about the 8-3/4 inch rear ends I have on my ’68 and ’69 road runners also.

If so what is(are) the location of the stamping(s)?

Maybe not back then, but they do put modern bar codes on them now.....

Never found numbers on an 8 3/4 but Dana 60's etc usually have a BOM number that calls out some info....
