We need bigger pictures!
I dont know what happened to those, why they got so reduced because they were taken with good cameras & used to display larger....just have to zoom them.....most of my stuff is in hard albums....dont have that much downloaded...why i keep posting same.

Beautiful work Jimi! I envy your skills!
Thanks Mike! camera dates incorrect..this piecewas completed in 2014...is one quarter of what was cut away from the Crucifix Blade....That's the deTomaso logo inscribed above the grip area....& yes, One could be seriously hurt with this. Called

Just finishing up on this King Air 90 turbine blade. No design...just articulated on the shape...very thin, twisty beaver tails. Bird bellied in dirt, but Edges around tip were distorted up pretty good, so Homie Pete did some hammer & dolly(yes i can, but Pete is Better), then i filed & blocked out tooling marks. Surfaced both sides starting in 40 grit, to de-ripple some. Not a lot of manual long board this time...8" firm wheel grind out with 40, then 6" D/A with firm pad,,40, 80, & 120. Then manual flat palm, end to end with WET 320, 400, 500, 1200 & 1500. Coarse polish with wool wheel.....finish creme with fresh micro-fibre wrapped over buffing pad. Never get over 500 RPM....minimize friction,,keep surface cool.

Just for curiosity, what do you use to polish a plexiglass windshield?
For the plex & paint..3-M 05976 "Perfect IT ll" light tan "MECHANICAL" compound(NOT perfect it lll!!!!)
a very mild abrasive........mixed with 3-M 05928 "Finesse It ll white creme glaze) i mix approx 70% compound to 30% glaze.
Cutting polish is done with wool wheel, followed by foam wheel with sparing amounts of the same mix. Then i follow that with hand applied Teflon....the stuff in orange bottles,,"NU-FINISH" is Great Stuff.
This windshield & cabin windows i've posted...the "Speedslope" windscreen was crazed(tiny fractures on surface that go prismatic in direct sunlight) so i started in 120 grit on D/A, followed by 220. Then Wet manual sanding using Firm but pliable pad, starting with 400, 600, 1000. Then the polish procedures. Cabin glass was smeary, cloudy, scratched up, but no crazing...so i hit the exteriors with the wet sanding process, same grits. last four panes in cabin are double pane..so interior panels came out to separate glass, so all interior sides of glass were polished including back side of windshield.
Acrylic Plex i can can get crystal clear.....poly carbon is a muther to get the milk out of.
Also....NO Hi Speed!! just creates friction, heat and doesn't cut any faster...think of drilling a hole....whama-jama just hogs at the metal & wears the bit out. I NEVER spin my wheel faster than a 1000 RPM, usually holding it down to 500 RPM. NO HEAT! ANY medium....dont try to work in direct sunlight....keep everything cool.
So the same compound mix was used to bring the paint back as the plex on the Grey Baron....the 1/2" satin black trim @ glass edges is my deal & there is an 1/8" black silicone seal @ glass edge...black on black.

CORRECTION...i got the numbers wrong on the compound...Quarts are 05973....Gallons are 05974. Qts are about 35.00.....Qts of the 05928 Finesse-It are about 70.00.
3-M is just hiway robbery...but certain products are superior to other brand counter parts. i dont know the number, but the Finesse-It is available through some jobbers in pints.

Jim, info like this would probably fit in your bodywork and filler thread as well. Great stuff!
Yeah,,i'd love to see that brought back top, then it would be worth installing more....the filler is the bomb btw....i will NEVER spread bondoe again, that is for certain...18 Tons...the press was leaking, so couldn't get past 18 tons...the puck only compressed 30 thousandths...no fracturing. ROFLMFAO!
