Bought tires from Summit and got this

Wanted to go with a different brand tire other than BFG Radial TA so bought tires from Summit.
I spoke with Summit rep before purchase and she told me they rotate out their tires every 90 days - so I bought 2 rear tires in 275/60/15
One tire was manufactured in Nov 22 and the other March 23
Also when looking at where blue dye is on sidewall it looks like sidewall is beginning to crack
So, do these tires have premature sidewall cracking or is this normal?
Summit said they will take tires back
Your thoughts?

looks like the blue spray is cracking, tires look OK

Sooo, one tire is 2 years old, the other is almost 3? So much for rotating the stock. I would send em back and insist on “new tires”, sometime in the 24 or 25 years.

Those appear to be Mickey Thompson S/T tires which are the same as Cooper Cobras. I run them on my ERA Cobra Roadster, black side out. Excellent tires.

As I understand it, the M/Ts are based on a Goodyear casing and are made here and the Coopers are made in mexico. At least thats how it was.
[way cool Cobra btw!]

Dates are overated. On bias ply tires i will agree, but on radials anything over 7 years old will blow, even sitting still with less than 100 miles on them. The biggest failures I have had were BF Goodrich. The only radials i have had good luck with on age is Cooper tires.View attachment 1832287
The two rears are blown, less than 50 miles, but we're about 10 years old when the blew. Exactly where it sits.
You know what BFG stands for don't you? Basically friggen garbage, and now way overpriced

I may have commented in this thread earlier, haven't re-read.
My tires tend to time out.
If those two-three year old tires were for a daily driver, wouldn't bother me.
For a collector car that MIGHT get driven a couple thousand miles a year? Send em back.

We pay huge money for these new tires and IMO I would ask Summit to send you something with at least a 2025 date. Everyone tries to promote the 10 year rule and buy new again because of aging rubber. Coker sent me tires a few years ago that were 3 years old. They gave me a hard time and wanted me to pay for return shipping and after hearing that everyone rotates their tire inventory I am not buying it. As in the case of Coker it was on the order to not send me tires that were more than 2 years old, they screwd up. If I accept something with older manufacture dates then i expect to pay less not top dollar.

PS: Not sure but I thought I heard Summit gets their tire from Coker.

I don't normally have any issues with tires expiring from age..... been taking the advice given above by many for a long time....

Just send them...........
