Complete front suspension rebuild and some rear also.

I'm not really wanting buy knuckle, I would just like to replace the ball joint which looks like you need a socket. funny looking socket. I have found one online looks to be a 2 9/64. Just checking if anyone knew for sure as it appears the 73 could've been pressed, or a screw type
The easiest way to tell if you have the pressed in vs screwed in lower ball joint is to look at the head. Pressed in are round and screwed in have hexes for the socket. I can get you the socket size later when I am home from work. Typically A-Bodies up to 72 use the small er size and B-Bodies use the larger one.

Did the 72 and older Chargers have the screw in joint or were the 72's supposed to be pressed in? I know the E body cars had the same setup as the older B's did but they continued the 'old' setup until the E cars were discontinued in early 74. Jan 1st iirc.

72 and down were the same as E's and earlier B's. The screw in lower started in 73 and they switched to press in later in the model year. From what I have seen most 73's are screw in and 74's are press in.

1-59/64" is the correct socket. Measure across your flats, should be just under 2" The 2-9/64" is trucks and C-Bodies I believe. Never needed one.
