I'm trying to find out ,if you have the headlight Motors installed in the car and the battery hooked up to the car. With the three prong plugs to the headlight Motors unplugged .Should you be able to run the headlight Motors by applying a 12-volt hot to one side of the field or other without a ground hooked up to the three prong plug .my question is are the Motors supposed to be grounded out to

The pins side by side are open/close. The other is ground. Yes you can test them this way.
