I took my test on a 100cc Honda provided by the state (PA) as part of a safe riding program. Actually, it was a good program, and the bikes were easy as heck to throw around and make figure eights, emergency brake, etc.

I wonder why I still ride as well. I learned to ride on that 67' Lightning, and rode 12,000 plus miles a year through the 80's and 90's.
After 45 years, It seems to be a lot more dangerous today. The deer population has tripled here, and it seems like every week somebody is pulling in front of biker. I love riding the Guzzi, but when is it wise to quit? When I get on that 1200, I remember my Motoguzzi V7 Sport, and I'm 21 again.

didn't take a test. got my drivers lic in 66 with a chauffeurs endorsement, commercial lic, and was riding a bonneville in about 68 to 70?? when bike class endorsement came effective. we just took in a bike ownership in your name and you got grandfathered in. started riding harleys of various shapes and sizes in about the late 70's and i still ride one that my passed wife bought me new in 95, 30th anniversary model #169 of 3000. in about 2000-2001 i took a bike course for cheaper insurance. it went from 1100.00 yrly for sk!tty coverage to 650.00 for full coverage for a 350.00 course.
i still have my passed wifes bike mounted on the wall in my shop that she bought new in 1976, 550 four honda. thanks for the memories again

Rode for a long time without the endorsement but when I finally did get it I used my 2008 Harley Street Glide

Took me almost 30 years to get my endorsement after riding nearly my whole life, albeit on other people's bikes.

2003 Suzuki Intruder 800. One of the easiest to ride bikes I've ever been on in my life.

Also one of the best handling cruisers and one of the quickest off the line.

If it had a taller 5th gear, FI, and better chrome durability, I'd still own one.

I saw about 2/3 of my testing group trying to ride 1500 class cruisers and crotch rockets fail.

Yea I had been riding for years without and bought a bike a a bike shop, lied said I had a license then had to hurry up and get it to show the next week, had a dink of a cop and a fresh gravel over blacktop, slid it around the cones and the cop told me to stop and said how long you been riding I just said a day he laughed and said go get you dam license great times.

2000 Honda cbr 600, loved the bike till right around a year old was involved in a accident and totaled the bike and needed surgery on my right ankle. To this day still miss riding.

Test! Test? You mean to ride all those years, just a dirt bike S/T Suzuki i had to have a test! WOW, i rode a old Honda dream for two year of course i never got stopped... I think a good thing now, didn't care then.. I think we were all nuts back then, at least myself, ill admit it, don't care!

I took my test on a 125cc Honda. Here's my ride! 1963 cushman silver eagle scooter,Bored 060,stroked1/4 inch, ported head, after market high speed wheels and tires, custom exhaust, 34mm carb,custom made pulleys and drive belt. The mods take the scooter over 75+ mph

A buddy had a couple of Mopeds and we rode those things all over the place along with go-carts too. Got stopped on the cart once at 11:30 pm but didn't get ticketed. Cop made me push it home tho. Had to ask him if he had a screw driver or a pair of snips to get the belt off (suicide clutch?). He looked at me kinda funny and had to explain to him that there wasn't a clutch on it and that the motor would start up if I started pushing it. Figured I'd get to ride it home instead of pushing it but that turkey had a screwdriver dang it! Luckily he got a call just as we got to the house and he drove off saying not to let him catch me on it again but dad saw it and came out with a sledge hammer and gave the engine a good whack. He drove the plug through the head but the piston was down and it didn't hurt anything else. I had it running with a new milled head the next day lol.

Yamaha RX 50. I took the test at the local collage...flippin 2 days class one day road course. less than half the people passed. It was a good course glad I went and I don't even have a street bike.

I drove one for years before I ever got a bike certification,
but it might have been a Z1R 1000 or a Kawi 750 Triple
