Arrived via FED X just the other day from SST!
Over the next few weeks of social isolation I plan to complete the final conversion from what was originally a 727 car to a Tremec. I slowly started the 69 B Body Coronet restoration in 2005 and during the process I converted it to a 4spd with the addition of a hydraulic clutch kit, aluminum bell housing and various other parts from Keisler Engineering. All the other items including the 833, pedals, column & electrical I fabricated or got through various new and used parts markets. Now mostly done but not drive-able, last year I realized that I might now have too much motor for the 23 spline, not to mention very poor gas mileage with the stroker motor & axle gearing and that a stronger transmission (w) overdrive is what I want/need.
    So, here I go.....

SWEET!!! I have the Silversport in my Charger and an older Keisler in my Wagon.. The Sliversport works so much better. What Shifter did you go with? Want a pistol grip?

Car is a 69 Coronet 500 convertible, 383 HP, 727 HD, No A/C, Std steering, Pwr brakes, Bench seat, Column shift, 3.23 std axle car.
          Yesterday it was a 69 Coronet 500 convertible, 440 (535), 4spd, A/C, Bench seat with a 3.54 Dana axle car.

Tomorrow (figuratively) the SST Tremec 5spd to replace the 4spd.

This is my current 4spd setup -never driven only tested on jack stands in the garage.

You'll like the 5 speed - way more fun to actually drive the car with more gears.

I thought I got a quote awhile back and with the hydraulic clutch and pistol grip, it was over $7,000.

This setup set me back $4725 but that's only because I already had the hydraulic clutch kit. I was hoping to save on the bell housing too but that was not possible due to the difference in the retainer hole sizes -833 is smaller than the Tremec.

Got about 5k on my SST TKO. No complaints. Dry and a better 2-3 than the prior Kreisler version.

Man, my new wagon has a Keisler kit in it, man talk about night and day difference.. The SST in the Charger feels great. The Wagon, heavy pedal feel and crunchy 2-3, I feel your pain...

The SST TKO600 does not line up with the factory shifter hole location in the 69 Coronet and honestly that's the only thing that initially concerned, but didn't detour me from taking on the conversion. It's not so noticeable when installed in a console car as is in a non-console 4spd car -but also I haven't seen many non console 4spd to 5spd Tremec images out there. I think that's partly why I'm sharing. To make the conversion easier they include this sheet metal patch panel that shows the location where the Tremec shifter wants to be in the tunnel and it's not in the factory location. This is due to strength reasons. So Yes, the tunnel has to be cut & the panel welded or screwed & seam sealed in place. The reality for me is that this part turned out to be more challenging than I expected. I'll share, in images, what I mean later but for now here is the locating plate in position.
