No idea if it is an original GT40, but it is definitely not a new kit. Car showed some age and interior materials definitely looked older and worn.

Cool to see in the flesh!

It needs a 426 HEMI.

This might be a production race car as the one built for use has a bump in the roof for an extra headroom for the driver.

Here's that bump. That negative cambered right front wheel doesn't give me any confidence that this car wasn't well cared for. Four are up for bid on eBay right now.

A friend of mine has a fairly accurate replica & I'm 5'-11" & I can't get in the thing. My knees are up against the dash & my head is above the roofline.

File under "neat car to look at, but sucks to actually fit into one.

I was really surprised how small it was in person. If you haven't seen one before, you can get an idea how low it is using the beetle next to it for reference. The roof of the GT40 is barely above the beetle's belt line.

Considering who they were really designed for... They got plenty of room LOL

They sure are neat cars..but after all this ford stuff I feel like I need a shower
:lol:

I highly doubt it's real
it does look like a 68-69 {?} Mark IV or V kit car/clone
{maybe a South African Stallion, maybe a Factory Five,
or that place in San Diego {can't remember the name} or some other kit co.
some of them are pretty damn close.}

the rear of the car doesn't look right

Theres a original up here as well. Also right hand drive. Its pretty nice .

I stopped by again today and they had the doors and rear clamshell open. It's a clone, but looks like it has some age to it. The guy working on it said they see it about once a year and the owner puts roughly 800-1000 miles on it per season.
