I personally like to listen to smart people regardless of their politics. Like everyone else, I heard the outtakes from the interview but in my opinion, those weren't the important takeaways. I'm encouraging you to listen to the whole thing on YouTube.

Of course, he talks about free speech but it's so much more. Here's one little part about banks that made sense.

Banks used to look at commercial real estate as an A+ investment. Now with people working from home 40% of office space is empty. It's a liability to have loaned out a bunch of money to office space builders and investors. Since the interest rates on homes are going up the price of homes has to go down. That's bad if you loaned someone a million dollars and now the home is worth $750,000. More and more banks will fail.

i work in banking and yes I watched both parts. He is 100 percent correct but it’s more than that. Banks bought treasuries as a safe hedge and made loans returning a fixed interest rate when borrowing from the Fed was cheap. But the Fed has raised rates so quickly to cool inflation the banks are in a pinch - borrowing from the Fed costs more while their current investments return less ( well the same but less in comparison). Most banks will survive unless there is a run on them, but not a good situation.

As always I’m not an expert… hell I’m too ugly to play one on TV…but I guess take my 2 cents for what it’s worth

Plenty of people back to work, 100% work from home is dwindling rapidly. Pure office buildings have been a thing of the past around here and down through NoVA. Mixed use started because of the 2008 recession. I don’t think I’ve seen a new office park go up for a long time.

From Elon being a former Liberal now watching him shredding the woke liberal party up just puts a big smile on my face. There needs to be an awakening on both sides and get rid of all of these politicians who are bought and paid for by donors and term limits need to be set.
