How far to insert fill neck - 73 Charger

Here's a dumb question (and proves that I should take more pictures)... When inserting the filler tube into the fuel tank, does the indicated lip on the neck butt up against the tank grommet, or does it push through to the other side of the grommet... into the tank?

Yes, butt the lip to the gasket. Hope you used a DMT gasket, other repops are junk.

Heating the gasket up in hot water first helps a lot too along with the KY.

Thanks. Yep, I did a bit of research and a lot of people said the same thing - DMT. I've always gotten good stuff from them anyway, so it was a no-brainer.
