Just purchased a '67 Coronet 440, and it's slow...

Get rid of the stupid-ass GM Q-Jet and put a damn Thermoquad on it so you can get your throttle and kickdown linkage set up the way it's supposed to be. There is no way that the kickdown linkage is functioning properly, so the transmission may already be damaged. Can you tell? I'm a Thermoquad guy!

Some people are a bit S-L-O-W to learn that the Rochester Quadrajet WAS used on the 318 engines in the mid 80s after Carter closed the doors. Yeah, the Q-Jet is primarily a GM carburetor but they do have ties with Mopar as well.

You're right, but I was referring to the GM throttle linkage on the GM Q-Jet.

Anyone know the compression ratio for a stock '67 383 2bbl with 516 heads? Google says Chrysler listed these at 9:1.

Also looking for stock valve length. Looks like it's 4.928" but need confirmation. I'm thinking of going to 1.74" for the exhaust valves, but have to find the right ones first.

Can you link to details on what a proper setup looks like?

I'm getting a good deal on a Edelbrock Torker 383 intake manifold. Assuming I get a compatible carb too, any issues running it on a stock motor/cam?
