Lost my good friend and at my fault

Don't be an asshole! You might try understanding the facts before rushing to judgement but your history on here shows that your intentions are often to just piss on people. Take it somewhere else than on this thread.
Since you seem so eager to throw that out there I'll paint the picture for you. We live in the country where he roamed our 30+ acres and never wondered off. He visited our neighbor who enjoyed his company (single man) and enjoyed chasing the rabbits, deer, etc. We sit 1/4 mile from the road with creeks and ponds for him to cool off in and need not worry about him, it's a dog's paradise.
Didn't know he was missing until you got the call WOW???? WTF, nowhere did I give a time frame now did I? My wife let's him out when she leaves for work and 2 hrs later I get the call so piss off!
That's the plan but have to wait until I can get out work early enough to pick one up. For now I just threw the lid on but will wait to burry it. Ours hasn't been pumped ever to my knowledge and is at least older than me. It was put it for a trailer home but sat unused for many years and it still didn't really need pumped!
Since there really wasn't any real inspections when we built I put in a separate leach for the waste containing detergents and soaps, that's what kills a tank. Only the toilets and kitchen sink drain into the tank.

Awful sorry to hear of your loss 747 mopar, a dog can truly be the best of a friend one can ask for, my best to your family as well.

So sorry for the loss of your pal 747.
I can only imagine how you feel if I replay your situation with one of my best friends. The --what if's are haunting. Blame will, of course, come to mind but had your friend survived this --he (by the nature of how companions think) would never think bad of you for (perhaps) placing him in harm's way.

After reading your apology I clicked on -like- because you came back to gather an amend.
After thinking about it for a while I withdrew my -like-.
747 did not "screw up".---He was sharing a loss with us and is feeling the natural guilt that comes from playing a bad day over again. He did not kill his friend by neglect. He is living with a tragic loss.

You might check with some mastiff breeders and see if they know of a rescue program for them.
We have Irish wolfhounds and there are occasional rescues available.

Thanks 69a100 for understanding and yes it's screwed up. I can easily handle a dog passing from age but drowning in poo is a bit tough to swallow!

Sorry for your loss bro losing a good friend is tough even tougher when you feel like your to blame. It's not your fault things just happen unexpectedly I hope you find you a new friend soon.

Hang in there bud.....**** happens ( and I am NOT trying to make light of the situation or being sarcastic...just to be clear), it was an accident....out of YOUR control....our pets are curious and sometimes it gets them into trouble. I am sure he had a great life and was well looked after by you and your family, take some time, look around... I am sure you will find the next one that will melt your heart and fit right in with everyone. Never easy to lose anyone, pets seem as hard, if not harder....just that bond we develope over time with them. Please post some more pics...always great to see our fur babies and their involvement in our lives!
We always "feel the pain" for the one that we most recently lost, and figure that we'll NEVER find another one to replace them . . .
That's NOT the point . . . we don't "ever" replace them, they live in our memories forever, and we will remember some of the good ( and the bad ) that they brought to our lives. We continue on with our lives, and we look for another pet ( to fill the "void" ) and we find one.
Will it be as "good" as the one we just lost . . . no, not in all ways. It'll be better in some ways, and, uh, not so good in others.
But they'll bring love, friendship, and become part of the family none the less.
BOY could Sammy RUN . . . I'm going to miss him too 747 . . . I know that . . . he was a great dog . . .
