Jegs shows the 1912 ready to ship this coming week. They didn't have pictures or specs on their website. I may get one to try out.

Edit- saw the link above and put my order in with Summit :)

I installed my 800 AVS/2 a few weeks ago, haven't tried it out yet, maybe this coming weekend.I'll let you guys know how it goes ASAP.I had a 1407 750 on it before,it worked pretty well with that on it.

        Looks nice.

Usually when you put an annular discharge booster in place of a conventional booster, everything else being equal, the annular booster usually reduces total flow. Do you know what might be different between the regular 800 AVS verses the 800 AVS2 to get the flow back?

The 1406 is only a 600 cfm Performer Series

        Big difference

What motor and specs did you put the 800 AVS2 on ?

Where did you find one in stock? My Summit AVS2 800cfm won't ship until the 14th.

My rejetted , springs , metering rods , larger nozzle on the 1407 , was told to drill this that , bend this , throw it in the garbage LOL

Anyways i ended up putting the factory Carter AVS back on

Then i bought a Edelbrock 800 AFB - Was night and day difference going with that right out of the box compared with the worked over 1407

Interested to read your report on the new 800 AVS2

I put 2 650's on mine. Runs great so far, response is crisp.

I finally got a chance to drive the Coronet with the new 800 AVS/2...It does have noticeably better response at light throttle settings than the 1407 750 it replaced. It doesn't seem any faster,(I didn't figure it would be),but for regular driving & cruising it feels like I don't need as much throttle as I did before.Hopefully this will mean better gas mileage.I was going to check MPG but about ten miles into my ride the dang odometer quit counting (always something, right?).Anyway,I'm pretty pleased with the way my car runs & drives with the AVS/2.

you don't need "as much throttle" with the 800 because the 800's primaries are noticeably larger than the 750's. the edelbrock website says these carbs can be bought direct from edelbrock. also, from the website, it appears that edelbrock ditched the big jets on the 800avs2. not sure about metering rod changes.

I received my AVS2 1912 800cfm and installed it. I added the same jets and rods my AVS had for a direct comparison.

Off idle is much much nicer with the AVS2. Tip in goes richer and is pretty steady as I give it more gas whereas the AVS would lean out. Verified with my A/F meter. I do need to swap back in the factory rods and jets because cruise is now rich (10.8 to 11.2).

And it seems burnouts are now easier to attain with the off idle responsiveness lol. I'm glad I bought one.

The Edelbrock Thunder Series AVS 800 #1812 Has

                  • Metering Jets: Primary .113 , Secondary .101
                  • Metering Rods: .068 x .047
                  • Step-Up Spring: Orange 5'' Hg
                  • I can not find any jetting info anywhere on the new AVS 2 800 #1912
                  • I would assume based on the new Annular Flow Boosters , the primary jetting would bee considerably lower numbers with the AVS 2 over the regular AVS ?
                  • Do you know the factory jetting and metering rods with the AVS 2 #1912
                  • Thanx Scott

Dammit. Would be nice to eliminate the last bit of off-idle lag but I bought a new 1812 just three months ago.

                  Primary jets : .104

So the 1912 is set up for less fuel delivery. I didn't check the secondary jets.

It's only money lmao. It is nice to see a constant, if not a bit richer, a/f when accelerating. It has very nice response.

Although you are probably correct, you really cannot draw that conclusion from jet and rod size alone
