pin height

...........The block has a 2-21-69 casting date so I suppose it could have got the 69 pistons in it. It now has.......mild ported closed chamber heads ..

Yep, that combo is 10.3:1 CR. I had one like that: 915s with 68-69 pistons. I guess I still have it in pieces somewhere.

That's the figure I got too....and was what I was shoot for.

Never got it to run on 93 octane pump gas. It had a pretty small cam
I'm thinking the old Hemi grind cam might build too much cylinder pressure for 93 pump.....will find out soon I hope. At least pulling the grill out on a 66 Plymouth isn't hard if it needs to be pulled.

to top it off. 750 Edelbrock, ch4b , dual snorkel, hp manifolds and chrome valve covers. did the Newport come with 375 hp motor from the factory ?

Got a set of 2295s in my current engine in my 62. With 906 heads and a comp gasket, barely 10 1/2 to one. Missed the "11 1/2 to one" by quite a bit! Got a set of Arias 12 1/2 to 1 that aren't even 11 1/2 in a maxwedge too.
In both cases, I'd rather have the compression they really are, than blueprint to spec.
I believe with the 2295s the 11 1/2 is with closed chamber heads you using open drops one point of compression which is usual

short block back together. came out to 8-10 thousand in the hole after taking 7 thousand off the deck. compression will be 9.75.
