Exactly, my 67 went from solid line that runs up to the front, to the bracket you mentioned a flex hose there running to the distribution block then solid lines to both sidesView attachment 494278 Hey guys. I have reinstalled my rear suspension/rear end. All hotchkiss. I'm having issue with how the rear brake lines are routed. I've found some pics on google/here. It looks like a short rubber hose from a bracket that attaches to the steel line going to the front. Does the hose just run to a distrubition block then split for left/right rear brakes? Here's a pic of progress.
Looking good. That's how my 65 is too.Exactly, my 67 went from solid line that runs up to the front, to the bracket you mentioned a flex hose there running to the distribution block then solid lines to both sides
If you buy pre bent lines for the rear axle, pay attention to where the brass block/ vent is located on the axle housing. Some years are close to the center. Some are further out on the tube. I learned the hard way. Lol.
I still need the lines. If hes not interested i'd be willing to buy them. My block/ vent is the one furher out on the tube. ThxAaron is correct. I ran into this on my 8-3/4". There are two very slightly different distribution block locations....maybe 3"-4" different location which makes the solid brake lines on the axle itself a little longer on one & a little shorter on the other, depending on where your distribution block is located.
IF you find that your lines aren't the correct ones vs. your distribution block, send me a picture of the lines laying on the rear end with your distribution block showing how the lines aren't exactly right. I have an extra set of 8-3/4" axle brake lines (the ones that were wrong for my car) and if they happen to be the ones YOU need, I'd give them to you free if you pay the shipping.
