I had the summit turbo start for 5 years and it recently failed. I call turbo start and it’s undetermined when or if they will make that style battery again. I also searched and purchased from battery central. A bit prices but I want that restro look. 3 week waiting period for delivery..

I bought my battery from Antigueautobattery years ago so I'm sure things have changed. But the battery was basically a case with "military grade" amg batteries inside. Well it never had much power and died down quickly if I had to crank on the cat much. When I called them with the complaint they left me high and dry. I could tell they had my money and that's all they cared about. When the battery finally died I cut it open and found 2 small little **** battery's inside probably not meant to start a vehicle. I ran they numbers on the battery's and they came up as batteries for like back up voltage on electrical equipment. Maybe they've changed things now a days but I'd ask what's inside the case.

I just gut my old resto batteries and hide lightweight racing batteries inside them. Way cheaper, last much longer and cranks over faster also. I have done 3 like this now.

Thanks everyone! Doesn’t look like I missed anything.

@Pops1967GTX - what are you doing with your old battery?

6PKRTSE I looked up the PC925 battery and see it has a CCA of 330. This is enough power to start a car engine without issues ? I would think you'd need 600 or more. Does the battery die down quick if you need to crank it for more than a few seconds ? That's the issue my resto battery had and I noticed the batteries I side it were made by the same company that makes Odyssey batteries.

We bought a restoration battery from antique auto battery years ago and wasn't very impressed. It was constantly going dead and never had much guts when it would crank. I just bought an AGM restoration battery from battery central mall about a month ago. Hopefully this one will last longer...

The Odyssey 925 is spec'd at 300 MCA in their charts but it actually load tests at 1000 CCA and after 2 minutes under load it barely drops to 970 CCA. I've been using them for well over a decade in all my customers airplanes to replace the lead acids. With lead acids we needed a start by the third try or batteries were dead, on the AGM's you can taxi down the lake on just the battery cranking the engine over..

Red top 27 I built for my Bird from a 30 year old case I had that had split in half.

I also bought a script battery about 4 years ago from Antique and it has an AGM stuffed inside it as well. No issues starting my 383HP in my Bee.

Yes that's the same characteristics my battery from antiquebattery had. That awesome about the Odyssey. I'm gonna get one ordered.
