Guy brought his suv to me, seat belt would not retract, stuck extended all the way.
He had bunched it up and ran a 1 "1/2 self tapper through it ( so it looked right ) .
Air bag monogram right above his self tapper Lol.
He did not know the bag is up on the rail , he had no clue of were it is located but ran that screw in anyway.
Fixed now, screw is out.

I work with airbags. Fortunate for him he didn’t drill into the inflator. 6500-7500 psi.

I worked for a jeep dealer in the early 00s, and there was an airbag recall that included "properly dispose".

Naturally, a cordless drill battery was employed...many, MANY items in the shop were launched using the removed parts.

Including our service manager. (Hey, his dumb *** said "sure, I'll sit on the chair with a bag under it")

For those that has never set off an AB....it surprised me. Set one off from a passenger side late model Dakota out under the high lines behind my place. We both just stood off to the side and wondered if it was going to get into the lines. It went pretty close!
