i have a 741 end and may up the pinion to 7290 for fun at some point - might not also

thanks for the pics of the driveshaft. always feels nice to have a new box come in.

took some resistance measurements of original console backup switch in PRD321 and comparing to the resistance values from the TKO500. both matchup in that reverse shows a short while all others are open. wiring up backup lights now.

first pic from tko500

You missed the joke entirely.

Feels nice.
Box.
Come in.

:bananadance:

just FYI -the handle assembly needs to be drilled and have a roll pin slipped in. best to do on a drill press if you can. it can be accomplished with a hand drill and patience.

interior wiring cleaned up. console back in; all lines up nice. need to get rear seat back in.

driveshaft arrives tomorrow. i hope to meet FedEx.

pics!!!

How is the shift feel? Short throws?

haven’t driven it yet. playing around with it up on stands, yeah feels like short throws. it just clicks into gear. clutch should release if pedal is pressed in about 1/2”; i watched the bearing push clutch fingers in

exhaust got more heat treatment today. used two rolls of Heatshield Products Armor to wrap. i think i used Heatshield Products for the flowmaster 40’s too but don’t recall as it been a few years; looks the same

ready to go back in the car

well all my fancy wrap for my exhaust was all for not...the exhaust will not fit back in the car. the reason is that the new driveshaft is way over beefed. the larger diameter does not like the tight h-pipe and everything is trying to occupy the same space at the same time. driveline looks good once car is on all fours it’s just the exhaust was built around the original pencil-like driveshaft.

uggghh....i'm thinking i’ll cut the exhaust just after the turns from the engine and tack on some bullet style mufflers. i want to drive this no matter how loud it is.

don’t really feel like posting pics of this

Well that sucks! Can you delete the H-Pipe and then cut/angle the pipes just down from the headpipe on each side to bring the exhaust out slightly and clear the driveshaft?

woke up thinking i’ll get some flanges and weld up a stack to create a safe gap just to get the car back on the road. the gap was less than an inch from manifold to exhaust and didnt appear noticeable from outside the car. we’ll see

Now that's a creative idea! Hence Stephen's sentiment... "It's always a project!" You'll figure something out Melon.

found a couple of lengths of the exhaust tubing for the tailpipe area that used to run along the gas tank; chopped them off to accommodate the Hotchkis rear sway. glad i kept them in the garage for the past...ohhh...six or sevens years

i hope to work some magic with them

:praying:
