yeah they definitely didnt learn from the Duke boys jumps,no ballast in the pontiacs trunk. That is definitely at the Carlisle fairgrounds by the pics. Looks like that car had way too much front weight when they jumped it. Talk about a nosedive!
Did I read somewhere that the car used was actually an old crown vic that was modified and reskinned to look like a bandit T/A? I vaguely remember something like that.

Most cars used for jumping are junkers at best and painted up to look look for the camera. At least that's what was done in the Duke of Hazard show....so they say.

Back when those shows were produced, the cars were not exactly commanding high prices....and not many people were complaining about it. It was the later movie remakes that started bringing out the cries for mercy lol. But even those newer shows were using cars that were in pretty bad shape. I understand that there's always something good that's getting torn up though....lots of messed up cars with good parts on them getting wasted for the $$$ sign. One man's junk is another man's treasure
I got some enjoyment watching the show. That's what it was all about at the time, just like what we did when we were kids with cars we'll never see again. Those were rust free California and Georgia Chargers back in the late seventies and early eighties. 349 nice Chargers that could have been enjoyed to this day.
