Hi Mopar Folks,
Do you recommend additional gaskets for the valley pan and intake or just the pan only?
Thanks

If aluminium intake follow Edlebrock instructions which includes a paper gasket.

It depends on if the heads have been milled. There is a few different threads on this subject on this forum.

Personally, I run a thin paper gasket on each side of the bathtub.
I glue them to the tin, and lightly grease them at the head & intake.
I hate the idea of chasing vacuum or oil leaks, and like the once-and-done deal whenever possible.
Plenty of guys have luck with just the bathtub, but I'm fussy.
I've never had an intake leak of any kind in 40 years.

Nick's Garage has several videos explaining stock iron intake needs no paper gaskets. Aluminum intake requires paper gaskets.

On the 383 in my 68 I do run the paper gaskets on both sides of the valley pan but I also feel like I have to! The iron intake bolts are dead center with the paper on both sides. I feel like it would be off in the other direction without them.

I was fouling plugs on the passenger side bank. Car started running poorly. Talking over my troubleshooting with @gtx6970 he asked if I had a paper gasket on the intake. Didn't know one way or the other as the motor was built 13 years ago by previous owners. When I pulled the intake oil actually puked out the number 2 runner. No paper gaskets in place. I decided to follow the Edlebrock instructions and got the Felpro 1214 kit. Glue the paper gaskets with gasket shellac.
