anyone else struggling with the battle of the bulge? Im down fifteen and fifteen more to go till i get to my goal of 200. Took a fall and got a partial tear in my rotator cuff two years ago and i stopped going to gym and just did PT,but now I'm back and starting to stretch out. I find stretching more helpful now then ever. Had a decent stretch 20 plus ago when i was into martial arts but that was then and this is now. The biggest downfall i had was snacking after dinner and that alone I've eliminated. Well almost LOL. Either way loosing some weight has made me feel better. How about you?

Weight comes with age. Nothing short of fanaticism seems to help. I've all but given up.

I've dropped about 12 lbs just by eating a little better. I'd like to loose another 20, but I'll settle for 10.

Disclaimer;
Not directed to anyone specifically, BUT;
Because someone otherwise will bitch & moan, whine or complain I'm sure...

Insulin resistance happens when aging, your body stores fat,
it's harder to get rid of when your testosterone level dip too low too...
Part of the aging process...

Maybe do some research on dieting & eating habits caloric intake &
expenditures...
It's not rocket science...

Maybe get off your *** & do something, walk 1000 steps a day min...

Maybe eat right, less carbo's/bread pasta etc.,
Maybe eat more dark green veggies as you age...
It's not rocket science, you body is comprised of what you
stuff in your pie hole...

Maybe quit stuffing so much crap in your pie hole...
Maybe exercise or at-least move around more...
It's not that hard to figure out...

Just takes some will power, not complaining about getting old & fat...

Dr. told a patient once, you can put anything you like in your mouth
& still lose weight, you just can't swallow...

I've found at 62 that basically their are things that you just can't have because our system can't metabolize them. So many non food products/seasonings that are very harmful/poison to my body, also over eating is a big one too as we don't need near the nourishment amount as when younger but we need to walk etc. every day. Good luck guys/gals, most all families need us up and productive.

@ 63 & i'm just the opposite....i NEED grease....my metabolic rate still runs the liquid quarter about 2 second ET's. The most i ever weighed was 155 in late 70's when i was on a state vacation. since i've avg'd 140-145..but in last couple years, if i don't eat constantly, i'll get as low as 130. Am i complaining...absolutely not...because i Love eating.....i've done vegan before & had no problem with plenty of variety to enjoy....but without the grease, the numbers go too low.
I Thank God for the fringe bennie of scarfing.....3 lbs of sirloin with full plate of trimmings...baked tata, ceasar salad, & ranch beans with ground lamb gets hoovered.:)

there is a really simple diet ... its called DON'T EAT SO ******* MUCH

I eat one main meal a day, lunch at 930 am yeah I start at 4am . maybe some toast/vegemite in the evening if I'm peckish
biggest thing I found was eating a full meal before you go to bed and then your body stores it all . you need to burn off what you eat
now 200 was 240 12 months ago , its all in your head

If your up and on the go that early i assume your in bed early so i can understand the dinner might not work so good for you. Ive heard the worse thing is eating really late at night. What doesn't help me is those late nights and I'm starving when i get home, thats always a problem. Congrats on loosing those 40 pounds

I've lost about 15 lbs. in the past year by simply stopping eating when I'm full. Just because you have a big plate full of food in front of you doesn't mean you have to eat it. Nobody's holding a gun to your head.

Can't waste food bro. i know, i know...jus save it 4 later.....as said, i'm sure fuking stoked it isn't my problem...lmao

I love eating as well. I'm 6' 200 lbs. They say the average American male is now 5'9" 196 lbs. I would love to drop about 10 lbs. I don't work at it too hard. I don't eat a lot but have the bad habit of eating late at night. I'm a night owl as it is so I like eating late too. I try to get in about 7-8000 steps a day. I've kind of laid off the gym this past year - mostly out of laziness. Not about time - I have plenty of time since I retired. It's all about discipline.

I should have added that I'm 5'8" and was 240 now 200
have always been "solid " ex wife's favourite saying was "your arms look like my legs "just started getting a "gut " now I've passed 50 .
getting old sux , still not dealing with it at all

My worst vice is

Ice Cream #3.jpg

Ice Cream, perverts...LOL
albeit I rarely eat it any more, too much empty calories from sugar & fat...

What does that equal to in actual distance?
depending on height & stride....avg, 2 feet per stride X 8000= 16,000 ft divided by 5,280...just under 3 miles. A 6 footer probl'y strides over 2 feet per stride....ball park?
How's airplanes? I may have a King Air 200 to do some fiddling with coming up.....got to get some medical issues taken care of first....right kidney is an obstacle.

I lost 20 lbs by giving up Coke (Coka Cola).....................................but it eventually came back.

been the same weight for 20 years. a small gut, 15# over, so what?
all of a sudden, lost 20# diagnosed with celiac,,,,,,,,,,, gluten allergy
put that 20 back, plus 10, and leveled out for the past 5 years.
gf foods (alternate breads and pastas) are calorie laden (and generally taste like ****).
trying to cut back, single piece of 'bread' in a sammich

Bladecutter is right. I average about 3 miles in my walks. Some uphill some flat. Enough to work up a decent sweat. It feels great!

K...Your GTX come home yet??

Hey BC - I got it out to CA a couple of weeks ago. It ran fine for awhile. Now I'm having trouble with a blockage somewhere in the fuel line. I think the block is at the tank. Don't know quite what to do about it. I got stranded in San Clemente when it died on me and had to get a tow home. I've been fooling around with it trying to get it going by different methods. May have to tow it to a shop and have the tank flushed and a new sending unit put in. Can't do that kind of thing at my condo.
