What % rate have you seen for a 100k 1 year CD?

I just park some of it in capitalone360. Performance Fund. Pays 4.30 today and you can get it in three days. No penalties or wait times. Keep it there for roof, windows, major appliance, Hellcats etc. Then big pile can be undisturbed. I’m drawing the checking balance down. Bank can go to hell.

I have a Cap1 credit card that I do not carry a balance on....pays me back on points and I pay no interest. Yup, I'm a 'deadbeat' lol

Also keep in mind a high yield savings may not be a locked in rate for however long you keep your money in there. They will fluctuate. A CD with a guaranteed rate is the way to go if you don’t need money to be fluid and expect rates to drop.

6 months ago i locked in my money market acct and IRA at 4.25% yielding 15K a year in interest ! now its over 5 % all thru my bank .

before that happened it was still 0.nothing %. i had to threaten to pull all my money out of the bank to get them to change it up from nothing...The banks will not automatically give u the new rates, u have to make sure they do it when asking..everytime the feds raise the rates those accts raise also.

Your deposits are secure sir but we can't give you cash. If you want your money you'll have to accept CBDC currency.

Anyone remember when CD's were in the low teens in the late 70's and even higher in the early 80's?
Yeh, back when I did not have enough savings to take advantage.
Now we can and have invested a little, interest is low. Lol.
Buy high , sell low , that's my motto.

There's no time like the present !
The present time is much different than it was 17 years ago......and it only got worse when 'it' finally left. It was worth it as my sanity was saved! :)

What's a guy got to do to get on your give away and bequeath list? :D
There’s a bigger than massive garbage dump outside of Manila, PI. I don’t know how many stories high. Many hundreds, thousands live inside of it. They make their “homes“ out of the surrounding trash of all ilk of garbage. It’s stunning to witness such poverty. The first time I saw it was about 25 yrs ago, and have been back several times, including last June. The dump only gets bigger w/more families living there. You could start by moving families out of there and into another form of shelter. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Four walls and a clean water source. Let’s make a plan of how many by when. That gets you on the list and I’m good for what I say…….

When is the last time a major run on banks happened? 39?
I think Bud is right ? I know We weren't around for any, in our lives. We've been whittling our accounts down, and diversifying the funds. It's not IF it happens, it's WHEN it happens, and Timing will be Critical for What you still have on the other side of it.................
