What's your favorite post-1970 Mopar?

Mine would be what I have, 71-72 RR, or Satellite Sebring plus. What I did to mine, I didn’t want to change a RR. I actually like the 72’s better, the taillights blend better with the front end. Mine is numbers matching, but I did stroke the 400, it’s an early 230 block. I like them all.

The 71 Cuda would be my first choice, I have a 340 car.
The 71 Charger R/T or Superbee, I have several of them.
The 71 Challenger, I have a 71 Challenger convertible.
The 71 Satellite/Road Runner/GTX. I have had several of these.
The 78/79 Little Red Express trucks. I currently have one of each year.

That's my top five post 70 Mopar list.

Call me crazy but after years of working on Chargers, Chargers, Chargers, Id have to say this goofy 77 truck of mine is satisfying to drive for fun at a fraction of the cost and zero of the worry.

1971 GTX
1978 LRE truck
1979 300
1981 Imperial
1986 Fifth Avenue

Got the fast, the luxury, and the style in the post-'70 Mopar wing of my dream garage.

I thought they stopped making cars in '71...(I'd take a '71 Cuda too but way out of my price range)

1971 Charger & RR, smooth body: side markers on 72s suck imo: Tail of 71 Charger better too, RT tail $$$$. So, did this on a budget...

ADAPT, ADJUST to remain in budget.

I have a 78 Magnum GT and a '71 Challenger 440 6 Pack, so those are my 2 favorites, in the same vein as if someone asks you which of your kids is your favorite!
In fairness, the question would be better if it was what is your favorite post 70 Mopar design, as the E bodies and A bodies were effectively carry over 1970 designed cars with a few cosmetic changes.
Phrased that way, then I could say the Magnum.
Others that intrigue me would be a one of the handful of Miradas made with the E58 engine before they realized they didn't meet EPA standards and canceled that engine option, the 71 Roadrunner or GTX, a late 70s powerwagon, and the Supercoupe with T Tops.

I would have agreed with the 1972 road runner/GTX at one time, but now that I'm getting older...

I had a chance at one of those about 10 years ago. 1972, triple black 2 door H/T with 20,000 original miles, garage kept since new. They wanted $18k. I passed as I thought that was too much. It would be a bargain today. It went to Europe.

Despite it being detuned, I like the wider one year only taillights on a 72 340 Duster. Perfect color combo on this one...

The Magnum would have been my second choice after the Imperial. :)

That’s my favorite body style. my first new truck was a 78 D150, long bed, 400. I bought it right after graduation. I’ve had a few since then. Nearly bought a 79, last year . It was the same color as the 78, Crimson red sun-fire. I messed around and missed out. Then I bought the 93, I actually had many more 1st gens then the tin grills.

I'd pick, and did own, the 74 Duster. I liked the Duster /Demon cars from the beginning in '70. The huge bumper guards were ugly, but easy to get rid of. Didn't like any of dress up stripes. It had the basic look of a performance car, but finding some go fast parts was not easy. SMOG years.

This would be my daily if I didn't live in the salt belt. But I do live here, and these are extinct here.
Second choice is a Ramcharger. I have one of those :) Helps they made them for like ten years, but they are rare birds up here as well.
Third would be a 78 club cab shortbox 4x4 power wagon. Black with silver two tone stripe down the side. 440. Almost bought one in Iowa years back, but the body was just too rough for the asking price. Another basically extinct truck up here.

I am partial to the 74 Chargers in the car side of things. Partly because the King used one for a few years after rejecting the 75, and partly because people aren't so uptight about them if you do a restomod compared to older ones.
