*Full disclosure, I do not believe this is actually R0G, but a reasonable facsimile approved by said @kiwigtx lol

Today was my day. Was moving a water sprinkler and the cheap 2 dollar hose was cold and didn't want to follow me too well and I stepped on it while moving and down I went. Bad thing was I was walking across the driveway. Banged up my right knee and elbow and just bumped my head a bit. Broke the skin on my knee and elbow and got some 'driveway' rash on my hands when I half way landed on them. Other than that, I'm good but made me think about being even more careful where I put my feet!
Glad your ok. I fell in the garage. I turn caught my toe just under the lawn mower tire. I banged my for arm pretty good. The wife asked the typical question. "How'd You Fall". Of course not real happy about falling I said. "Hell Woman Gravity"

Yesterday, I went to the pole barn to look for a garden hose repair end.

On the way, I stepped in a possum/armadillo root hole and partially lost balance.

In order to not fall, I had to land my other foot oddly and abruptly...

...stubbing the HELL out of my right second toe at the first knuckle.

As the day went on, it ached badly and the pain crept all the way to the ball of my foot.

This "gettin' old" is gettin' old.

Too many battle scars to count.
Being semi- paralyzed I've lilltle
to no feeling in my left side.
Walking over uneven terrain
requires concentration on foot
placement. Attempting this in the
dark is near impossible but at times,
unavoidable, and where most of them
occur.

A brief, serious comment from a doc. Most of respondents and members here are...approaching late middle age...I certainly am, at 84. Falling is more frequent with age, sedative medicines, foot sensory impairment, etc. As a rule of thumb, ANY serious head contact, even with minor or no bruising, is a high risk for a slow bleed just inside the skull, which can produce more dizziness, somnolence, and even death. DO go to the ER, DO NOT tough it out.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine used to joke about the 1/4's of life with 1-20 being the 1st quarter and so forth. Made sense to me. Anything over 80 is overtime. OT in the NFL and NCAA is different but in life, I see anything over 80 as a plus!! Just hope my wife and I can help each other if we make it that far and 'go' together!

I fell twice on Sunday on my driveway. Ice from a recent storm. Thankfully I had a couple beers in me, so it didn’t hurt as much as it could have.

My wife accidentally fell today and definitely wasn’t drinking. She slipped and fell into a curio in our den. Thank god the jagged glass didn’t cut her face. She fell head first. It could have been really bad.
Thank god for miracles. Thinking of what could have happened has me shaking inside.

PSI: I think EU law now forbids ladders, their OHSA version. When up on a ladder, I wear my bicycle helmet. I probably should wear one of my USAF helmets...!

Oh wow! Glad she's alright. I've been looking at getting rid of things that might even look dangerous to falling against. I know that everything can be dangerous but stuff with glass is one of the items that I don't care to have in furnishings in the home....thought that way even when I was younger!

She’s brave, she has two of them.

Fell off the couch!
About two hours is my limit for driving the motorhome. Went back and laid down on the couch and wife drove. I reached down to get my water bottle at the same time as wife made a left turn. Next thing I knew I was on the floor. I keep telling her to keep all the wheels on the ground.

Sometimes I look at the sliding glass doors in the back or the really big front window and think maybe that should be changed out when I get older, assuming I still live in this house.
For the curio maybe a film to contain the pieces to control the sharp shards would help?
