Hey guys, I need a recommendation. My 40 year old starter is finally getting a bit slow. I want to go to a mini starter but am not sure what brand would be best. I'm not looking for a real high end piece and compression is stock. I just need the brand that will give me dependable service.

440 source sells one for like 79 bucks and it works great on my charger

X2

I have their mini starter on all three of my Mopars below and they are great even with the high compression on the two cars.

Nippon Denso

These are the smallest frame, lightest weight, heaviest duty, OSGR starters. The ones that the "knock-off" companies TRY and copy.

Denso Rebuilt 281-0109
Denso New 280-0136

for the **** retentive who can't take a joke....

how much do they sell for

Nooooooo....the 440 source starter is 79 bucks. I figured someone might want to know how much the ND units were

Well I guess if you don't like the fact that I've welcomed all to the board, you are always welcome to leave.

But I did read it before it was edited though.

Nothing was removed that had anything to do with a real "discussion".

I've got a phone. Has a dial on it and everthang (ok..buttons not a "dial") and it even works.
It was a public service for the people on these forums that will not take the time to read an entire thread (such as http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=42182 on FABO) and just jump in giving suggestions that 1) have nothing to do with the problem or 2) make suggestions that have already been given.

I doubt they would take the time to call for a price. ****, they have the internet and are to lazy to google something to find an answer.

Since you had part numbers etc I figured you already knew what they cost. Seems like it would have been a simple matter for you to enlighten us all with a price. But instead of just answering the question, you had to be the BMOC and give a smartass remark.

Seemed like a legitimate question to me. Did we ever find out how much they were? I'll bet there's a bunch of us that are reading this that have plans to buy a good mini starter in the near future. I know I am.

I've recently discovered in talking to potential customers that a lot of people are reading our posts and using the information. There are many people out there that don't join the forum but read the posts on a regular basis. I get e-mails fairly regularly from people interested in wing car information, buying wing car parts from me or having me build a wing car for them. All based on them reading the posts on these forums.

Basically, what we say and how we act has more influence than we might realize.
