Hopefully the OP realizes we're not unloading on him...just trying to save him about 5 grand or so.

For the OP car, A 5-6K car it might me, but a 12K car it is certainly not.

318 Satellites? Hate to tell you, but I spent a year looking for mine, and saw plenty selling for that amount. The owners were asking a lot more, but the cars weren't selling. The ones that were selling were completely assembled, low on rust, and in the $3,000-$3,500 range.

One thing that's always amazed me about car buyers is they tend to think local too much. Here we have the internet, and specialized forums, and people still focus 99% of their search within a hundred or so miles of themselves.

I found a super-nice, no-rust, second owner 73 Satellite Sebring that was in Virginia earlier this year. 70k or so original miles, and the guy wanted $3,000 for it. If I hadn't just bought my 74 RR I would have been buying a ticket to Virgina and driving that car home. :)

Nah...I've had my 71 for 27 years and like the 72 and older Mopars. Never really paid much attention to the 73 and newer. I posted for opinions...and got them!:headbang: I'm just always looking for something since the kids like dads old hot rod. Would love to get a Panther Pink Duster/Dart, Barracuda/Challenger for my daughter. She's a girly-girl, but loves to drive loud Mopars..

Go for an A-body, Darts are cheap small(ish) and fun. I have two and the first one I paid $500 and drove it home. Plus they have loads of interchangeable parts and are easy to work on. Perfect Father/Daughter project. Dusters are more in the 1500 range for one with a decent body and a /6.

Yeah its funny that Darts in our area will be a lot cheaper then a Duster, Demon, Dart Sport. They can be made into some really bad cars and always get attention.

Now I got to stop looking at that 72 Road Runner......I want that one bad.
 
Is it just me or is the wheel well trim different? Chrome looks thinner and like those that have an inner lip on the inside of the wheel well opening. Compare them to 73frostmistsatellite's car.
 
Let's play "closest to the pin".

Keep in mind this is a low mile one repaint big block car, although I would argue that from a collector standpoint, the 400 2 barrel is not that much more desireable than the 318, however from a driver standpoint, the only difference in the 2 barrel and 4 barrel 400 is the carb, cam, and exhaust.

Suppodedly one repiant. Desirebale color? I say that's debateable as well, but the B5 interior is desireable.

This one is actually close enough for me to go and look at personally.

I'll start the guestimating and say it will either sell or be bid up to $6000.

Anyone else wanna play?
 
World of difference between an original big block and small block car, especially if you like to drop 440s into everything like I do. :) I can't play because I just put a bid in on it. :) They're wanting $2,000 on close of auction, so I'm guessing the reserve is around $4,000. Not a bad price for a big block in this condition.
 
Rememver guys, this is a 73/74 Satellite thread.

I put a bid in on the ebay car as well.

If it goes for $3000, I want it.

If it goes for $6000, then I'm happy (er) with what I already have and paid $4000 for!
 
that car came from NJ...i saw that thing 4 mos ago being tossed around CL..i saw it in person at the Atlantic City Auction where the high bid was $3500 no sale..be careful
 
These cars are hit or miss. I have seen some real nice ones go cheap while some rust buckets go for for too much IMO.

My first car was a 73 340 RR that me an my dad redid in the late 80s. Funny thing was it was his car originally then he sold it and we found in terrible shape. I sold it around 95 and bought a boat. I got the bug again and was trying to find a 71-74 RR when I stumbled onto a 71 Barracuda. Dumbest mistake I made. I still have that Barracuda, painted but still partially disassembled. I just can't get into it. In 05 I found a project 68 Charger bought it then hurricane Rita hit and it became visible and a Houston waste management supervisor started hounding me until I flipped it and then found and had the 73 Satellite shipped in from Arizona.

Actually 15 minutes north of Beaumont, but I have bought some things from Cranky years ago. :happy7:
 
Myself also, Cranky is one of the good guys to deal with... Very fair and reasonable.
