Nice, a buddy of mine has a 700hp LS he wants to put in a car like that, he actually wants an 80's Buick LeSabre or Olds Delta 88, a sleeper. If you were a lot closer he might have been interested.

A 1978 Caddy 425 is a truly nice "Saturday night car" -- all the conveniences of a modern car -- before all the "cr@p" ruined cars...
Had one for years that I picked up for $1000 that was GREAT until too many expensive things started going wrong on it --
and it became time for the flatbed to heaven -- hated to see it go.....
Good luck with that one -- there's always someone looking for one of them -- "If the price is right"..........

Daly.... the price is right but i understand about the shipping. However, Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas is selling into your neighborhood all the time. Odd many people are telling me that Canada is the PLACE TO SELL this car. Really never gave it much thought honestly.

So what is the word inside planet Canada??? any clues you can share?

I wouldn't think you'd have any luck selling up here, the exchange rate is horrible. I mean it doesn't hurt you, but someone would really have to want the car for 30 cents on the dollar… If you were asking 10k (hypothetical) for the car, someone in Canada is going to pay 13k CDN for it, then taxes and brokerage fees. IMO not worth it right now…

Good to know! I appreciate that input and looking at the major cities it appears there a 4 or 5 similar and priced well but that does not take into account the exchange rate. I appreciate the help.

on another note.... my painter who will be painting both my cars is smack in the middle of MEXICOville (aka south Houston). I can take it to his shop and folks will be all over it. Unfortunately she'll end up a low rider or with 22's

So this afternoon I had to go get a weedeater.... grabbed the new battery and stop by the shop. put it in the car. Keep in mind NOTHING has been done to this car other than the bath!

WAAaaaaa LAH! EVERY light in the car, radio, CB, Windows havent had power to them in 13 ish years.... CAME TO LIFE!!!!

Well...had a few minutes today. Oil is changed, pulled the plugs, added new antifreeze... new autozone battery ....... well the guy DID say this was the low quality battery. I DID agree to buy a cheap one since I'm selling it....but I didnt mean THAT cheap. Well apparently I did not note the map light was on and ran the battery down after two weeks. It almost boosted but a cheap anything IS a cheap anything. wouldnt charge back up to provide enough cranking amps. Anyway what little she did provide the spin over was good. I'll have to change out fuel lines and some misc...stuff. But I like how its going so far.

Oh and today I even noticed the outside Opera light even work!!!!

Carb on it, right? You don't want any of that old gas going into the carb should the pump still be working. Btw, it's South Houston which is a city in itself separate from Houston. Doesn't matter to me since I'm in Pasadena....which is quickly turning into little Mexico too lol. Used to live over near Hobby and right next to the South Houston/Houston city limits and those people never liked being associated with Houston lol. Crooked little city too....

No sir Cranky.... I 'm running a separate electric fuel pump and pumping the fuel out of the tank to ensure I get fresh fuel in the quadrajet 4 bbl.

....and this car has been in Kingwood all of its life. I noted today some fuel lines, vacuum lines that are next on the list to be replaced. If I get her running she'll be sold by the weekend i'm thinkn . ONE very interested guy.

Very nice Malaise Era car! The '78 Coupe deVille was always on of my favorite '70s luxo-cruisers. Very nice car! Great colors. Hard to kill the 425 engines.
