What did you do to your Mopar today?

Media-blasted the lower 1/2 of my steering column, etch primed, painted the red area. Tomorrow or the next day...I'll do the black on the shaft and joint.

Got bottom of the trunk lid ready for some primer.

I've been keeping myself busy over the past couple months cleaning & detailing the engine bay & interior. Just waiting for the radiator & a/c compressor to come back and to get the new upholstery on the rear seat & buddy seat. Check out the restored steering wheel....

Got my instrument cluster back from from AutoInstruments today. They did a great job and even polished the plastic lens for free. I did the quartz clock conversion and a solid state voltage limiter too. For some reason the after picture is a bit blurry, but it looks perfect in person.

Funny isn't it? back in those days , one of the first things we did with that steering wheel, was to replace it with a custom one. Now, we do whats neccessary to make the stock one look like new. Also now, my 68 Satty has the stock one in good condition - and I wouldn't think of going custom! ...........................MO

I am getting the charger prepped to be pulled from the rear garage (storage garage) to the work garage and vise versa put my 47 Buick in the storage garage . As I was approached yesterday about being on a up and coming TV show (sorry I signed papers saying I can say no more about said show) except it's going to be a redo of a fairly recent show that was on TV. With a certain big bald guy hosting it.... anyways I was told I needed a flashy fast mopar my club would sponsor me . So option one was the Richard petty built hell cat challenger witch is owned by a guy in my club but he's to rich and busy to bother with driving from one coast to another(hint) and asked if I would drive the kitty cat . My charger build would be ideal for this show. 340 4 speed good amount of power and mpg wilwood disc brakes upgraded suspension ect sounds like exactly what I was building this charger for . But I need to get the charger done first or I'll be driving a $120000 hell cat from the petty garage. Witch would be fine but I feel old iron would be better to see on t.v. then a sticker challenger . I'm extremely excited wish I can say more . I'm not sure how my name got to these people but they have been asking alot of ?'s about my driving ability s witch are extremely good /race car driver quality . No I'm not tooting my horn I've done alot of cone and drift style racing road course and off road rallye even . Of course drag too. So I feel confident . But I'm worried about the time frame as I'll be getting a back surgery soon I was told I have about a year and a half before we need the car and the driver ready for the preview recordings so I have time you all need to keep me motivated on my car as I really want to do it in my 72 rallye yes 800+ HP might be fun but eh a 500 HP charger should be more fun right ?
Anyways moving cars around in preparation for the chargers return to the restoration rack

That looks great! I cant wait for the day when I have that picture in my garage to take.

Painted the rest of the column, got a notch milled into my motor-plate to clear my NRC distributor, picked up some powder-coated parts............now gotta test-fit the plate, and assemble some column parts.

That notch isn't going to substantially weaken that thing is it?

I like the front plate/elephant ear design  classy

Weaken it? Not even remotely. It's WAY overkill to begin with. It's for the "cool" factor.

The top of trunk is free of surface rust and I filled in some lie spits with metal to metal. Primer should happen tomorrow.
