Reminds me of bank tellers, cashiers in retail stores, etc. The lines don't seem to move any faster than when I was a kid. Sometimes, much slower.
For example, try returning a simple item with receipt in hand. Sometimes the cashier stands there and begins typing and typing away on the keyboard. And I ask myself, what is she/he doing, writing a novel? Used to be: put the item on the counter, hand the receipt to the cashier, the cash drawer opens, the money is put in your hand, and your gone!
I have always wanted to collect the ways "technology" has made our lives inconvenient and compile into a best seller I would call "Technology Sucks". These days "technology" for me would be any item that does NOT use a computer chip (Like grandma's 100 year old toaster that still browns the bread just the way I like it).
