Way to go! It’s a filthy, disgusting habit. I’ve been off for 17 years now. I used to think I was strong until I tried quitting smokes. It was freakin’ HARD! But I did it, you can do it. Nobody ever said “damn, quitting smoking was the dumbest thing I ever did “.

Keep on truckin Man! We're sharin the load! Merry Christmas

Tried a cigarette when I was a kid, but after a few puffs, that was it. Never smoked ever. But, I did alot of LSD in my younger days. Started when I was a kid, then continued through my teens into the early 20's. It was good and it was a pretty addictive habit. Everyone said it was harmful to your health, but I liked it. All of a sudden somewhere in my mid 20's I stopped the LSD and haven't had any since then. Yep, those Liquid Sugar Drinks like Coke and Pepsi are really not good for ya.

I did a lot of acid, peyote, mushrooms. NO regrets whatsoever! First time was in 69,,last time was 97. Who knows, I may do some again before the end. But I won't ever drink, snort coke/meth again. Never did heroin or pharmaceuticals.

Congrats Blade on quitting that nasty, expensive, addicting habit. Lost my dad to that ****. Best of luck.

That's awesome! Good for you. I quit cold turkey just about 2 years ago, after 34 years I just said screw it one day, and haven't gone back to the habit.

Congrats on quitting. I smoked for about 25 years, been quit now for about 15. I had a 4-5 year period where I would smoke cigars when I drank. That was all fine at first, then I started inhaling the cigars, and would smoke 4-5 a night. Not sure how many packs of cigarettes that would be but, I could sure feel it the next day (not to mention they were about $8 each). Eventually I lost my sense of smell...100%...just gone. To some that may not sound all that serious at first but, stop and really think about it. I've had wiring short out and not know it until I saw the smoke, what if that would have been the house wiring? I run a powder coat shop, my ovens are gas fired, when I come in and light the ovens in the morning I need to be sure that there is not a gas leak!
With the help from a Dr I can smell again USUALLY and I never take it for granted. I appreciate having a sense of smell now even if its a dead skunk on the road that I'm smelling.
Any how, hang in there all you quitters! Its worth it.

Congratulations. Your lungs and family will thank you for it. And if you are ever thinking about going back, just remember this one simple phrase: "The first one is the worst one."

Without that first one, you can never start again.

I ve tried to quit . it is a hard thing to do after alot of years . its been just a habit more than a craving. I could use some support in making a effort in quitting.

It nice to see you all making it work .Congrats .

CONGRATULATIONS! !!!we're all nagging you because we don't like to see other people sick for something you can prevent, cheers for you my man I've see the terrible causes the tobacco can do on my old man so, once again CONGRATULATIONS OLD MAN!!!

As a smoker and one who grew up with two non-stop smoking parents I hear ya. I'm back and forth on quitting and it's a bitch. My brother went to vaping beginning of the year and so far so good. Then ya hear that ain't all that good either. Those of you who have quit cold turk congrats and hope I can join your club.
