Since losing one child I've taken a bit more time in my life to keep a good eye on our other two. Our youngest Daughter worked on all the drawings and was site coordinator for this place just North of Barrie Ontario for almost three years as a licenced Architect. We've never got a full price, but somewhere around 30 million was spent on this "house" and it is now for sale for just shy of 20 less than a year since completion. His wife will be happy with 10 I bet.

Watch the show... jump to the 29 minute area and see what went into this place. The fireplace mantle was put in place by putting the crane cable down the chimney flue.

Congrats on a great daughter!
Thanks, I'm hoping she'll keep me in the life I'm accustom to!! LOL Been a long road for this tough cookie, 4 years to get her Bach of Architecture at Carleton and 2 more years to get her Masters in same at Waterloo. We had a tough time keeping her in Waterloo as she wanted to come home when her Sister was sick, but she stuck it out along with the additional 3000 hours of each, hands on, required in both Commercial and Residential work as an apprentice before she could write her final 3 exams to get her licence.

DANG.. anyone else getting this??

I should also note, that she will just be turning 32 in 2 weeks, so all of this work was done in her late 20's.

Looks like it could be this...

Go to YouTube and search "HGTV Canada Hot Market" then there's episodes 1-7

Nope.. I think that's one episode before the one this house is in. That was one house they looked at for the buyer looking to spend 20M. Can't believe the show won't play in the USA...

EDIT.. I see what that is, it's the "promo" reel for episode 7 and only 3+ minutes long, the show is 44 minutes long and "her" house starts at 29 minutes in.

They say kids rebel against their parents. Mine rebels by succeeding.
I was a problem child, druggie, underachiever until I got my **** together in my mid thirties. Daughter was born when I was 39, and wife and I made a conscious decision to actually raise her as best we could. As I pointed out in another thread she always worked at school and at a job, and always succeeded. Far from being father-daughter, she is more like my best friend.
Currently she is in Sudbury taking bio-medical. Deans list/honour roll every year. But you know what I’m talking about. Well done.

I left home at 17. Was married when I was 20, Leah was 18. By the time our Son was born a year later I was the plant Electro-Mechanical Engineer at the most modern glass plant in North America and Jennifer came along two years later. By the time this gal came along in '88 I was waist deep in our own plastics plant that I started from scratch when I was 23. I still beat myself that I missed my kids growing up as I worked 20 hours a day for years. That said, this one uses me as a sounding board, "how do you do this.. how do I do that". She's been able to paint a picture in merely minutes and building furniture, roll top desks, fau antique tables, etc since she was in grade 9 so this career of being an Architect was pretty natural for her.... and thanks!
