Seriously, all this fadoo about a friggen $20 hex rod that's going to see minimal use. Christ, buy the one with "free shipping" !!!
I have always believed in using the correct tool. The Mopar tool was designed for this application. Proper fit, length and hardened tips so no rounding off...To me using pliers or an adjustable end wrench ( Crescent ® ) may "work" but I would rather use the right tool. Just me and my 3 roll away tool boxes. Love having the right tool when you need it.
Always a way in a pinch I guess. Be prepared.
Of course you realize the pump drive itself is available in several different sizes depending upon application.....really isn't that big of a difference from longest to shortest. Just saying...I also like to use the right tools, which is why I asked the question on the Forum before I buy. Thank you for your response and everyone else. I ordered the Mopar Tool and it should be arriving today. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment, nobody has mentioned that aspect. Much appreciated.Hey, just remember, oil to the top end rocker shafts is timed! So you need to rotate that Hemi as you prime it to get the full benefit of the prime. If you don't 1 set of rockers will be dry and probably both sets will be dry. Of course having oil up to the cam journal is way better than a complete dry start. But having oil dripping off the rocker arms is the best.
