Ordered a double roller timing chain from auto zone but my friend says it’s a crappy part. I’m not sure to believe him because his main thing is racing which explains why his car has been down forever. He’s always trying to get this and thy upgraded so the car has g even been driven once but anyway his suggestion stuck with me

What do you think ? Should I get a better one from summit or stick with that ? Anyone use them or recommend anything else ?
Daily driver so reliability is what I’m looking for. I don’t need a 500 dollar timing chain made of titanium to race a hell cat

I would recommend a name brand timing set. Nothing made for low bid in China.

You get what you pay for! Caveat emptor! China doesn’t care if it takes a crap on you as they won’t be dealing with your bent valves and eyebrowed pistons! If it’s a major name brand part in their box is one thing.. I don’t take chance on engines... OEM or better no excuses I will not call a hook for my stuff.

Is it this one?

One year warranty seems a bit scary.

I'd spend a few extra bucks on a name brand, high quality timing set. In a stock style motor, it will last forever.

Go with a clloyes, never had great luck with duralast products myself.

I use the Edelbrock timing chain sets, I like the chain design and quality. 440'

Any quality billet 3 or 9 way key adjustable double roller set would be best for you. Around $100-160.

They don't call 'em "Don'tLast" for nothing.
They can offer a lifetime warranty because they buy the parts so cheap.
I would only buy "dumb" parts like fluids, filters, bulbs, wiper blades, etc, from AZ.

Alright how about this one ? Returning the az ones today

I’m looking at the top one for 49.99

Guy at work has a az chain in his 350 Chevy....its been 5 years . His car runs good but I never would do it

Why not name brand parts, such as Cloyes or Melling?

Because I bought the car and I’d like to get the 383 rebuilt in a few years. I don’t want to take the car apart and add another project

so right now I’d like to the the oil pan that’s leaking again, valve covers, timing cover gasket, and timing chain since I’m already there, get 2-3 more years then pull out and have rebuilt with better parts etc
