My brake lights aren’t bright enough

I use a good size prybar locked between the seat and pedal for brake light checks

I could rig up an adjustable tubular bar clamp set to expand rather than to compress....but I think that a single purpose tool like that would rarely get used.
A 2 x 4 cut to size makes more sense to me since I always have sections of lumber around here.

I always have something laying around that I can use to push the pedal if I need it, either to wedge against the steering wheel or the seat.

Well I tried the LED lights linked earlier in this thread, and my flasher stopped working. I put it on the left side and turned just the parking lights on.

Seems slightly better. When I turned on the flasher it was very bright but not flashing and I didn't think to get a pic. I put one of the reg bulbs back in to see if between the two that would activate the flasher, it didn't and then the bulb showed me it wasn't inserted properly by springing loose into the housing :BangHead:

Are those housings still the factory silver paint inside?
I think that these types of bulbs....

Don't produce enough light, certainly not as much as an 1157. The aftermarket LED boards that fit into our housings must aim the bulbs straight toward the rear instead of in a 360 degree pattern like the bulbs shown here. If the bulbs aim at the back sides of the red lenses, it seems that they would be brighter, right?

Yes still the same silver or whats left of it. The bulb is similar to what you pictured, here they are with a pic from Amazon:

When they were linked I added them to my cart to look at later, and they are so cheap I figured what the hell and bought them while getting some other things. The light output while it was in left turn mod was really good for daylight. I'll try to get another pic later when I go to fish the OG bulb out of the housing with the brake pedal pressed.
If the housing is reflective enough I can see it not needing to only aim at the lenses, I could be thinking about it wrong tho. Either way I don't want to mess with resistors or change my flasher so this is likely just gonna go on the parts shelf and I'll buy some of that white paint.

Friends don't let friends buy cheap LED bulbs.
