Couple of 66 Charger 383 factory 4spd cars. The black car was my first car bought back in 1974. The cream car was a birthday present to my wife in the mid 90's, it was purchased from original owner. I can decode your fender tags from memory. I can rebuild your dash light power packs. I sell new relay kits for the rotating headlights behind the glove box.

The cream car was built Monday, May 2nd, 1966 and the black car was built Friday, May 6th, 1966...hence they are bookends. The cream car is a 160,000 mile original car, still wears OE paint, engine, trans. The only thing I have done is the interior. The black 66 has dual quad induction on a 383 with a factory Chrysler intake

WOW! That was quick.
I just got home and there it was.
I am just finishing up the conversion on my 66 and will post pictures and the story on the car here in the next day or two.

THANKS.

1966 Charger 426 HEMI 4 spd in original colors. From what I recall it was built built April 66 but don't know where. Still sort of a work in progress but runs and drives.

My 66 and 67 Chargers

Purchased the blue 66 Charger in 06, i'm the 3rd owner. Originally CC1 (Light Blue), now Mazda Nassau Blue (painted about 96) Very nice driver, interior is all new. All original drive train, 361, 727 console shift, PS/PB/Factory AC.

My 67 is a fairly rare color combo, TT1 Copper Metallic with a Copper interior and Black vinyl roof (White Hat Special). Bought the car in summer of 2010 and had it repainted, new vinyl top and all new interior. Have it about 90 percent put back together, hope to be driving it by the summer. 383, 727, console shift, PS/PB/Factory AC.

As a side note I run a small business repairing Mopar gauges from 60-74. Specialize in the 66/67 Charger EL gauge clusters, powerpacks and tach senders. Over 50 EL clusters rebuilt in the past 3 years. I can rebuild most anything EL in these cars...

Great to have this forum here,

Beautiful cars guys! My 66 sits in my shop, in the process of total "restification". Plan to pull the engine and trans this week or next then haul to the body shop for a long stay. Seeing your finished cars gives me hope and keeps the fire burning, thanks!

7th digit in the V.I.N. gives you the assembly plant code.

Now you got me curious so I looked. It's a 1 and according to my info that is Lynch Road. And while I was at it my 66 hemi Bel was built in St. Louis (7) and the green 66 Bel was LA (5). Now that's diversity.

That blue is awesome!

all 66 Chargers had a "1" for build plant, all 67's had "2" for build plant

Just curious....I see the one charger has a buddy seat with no console. How did they handle the back seat area when there was no full length console?

The buddy seat was not available in the Charger until 1967 which only has the partial console or arm pad/flip down in the rear. Look at 67 Charger interior

and then look at a 66 and you will see the difference.
