Hi I am looking at buying a A12 Bee nice restored car I looked at it yesterday it has fender tags dash board serial number no broadcast sheet no number on the rad support cause rad support has been changed I looked for the number on the trunk seal area its not there is ther anywhere else that the factory stamped numbers on the body just want to be sure the car is not a rebody any help would be greatly appreciated

No so you better find the trunk lip numbers.Trunk lip numbers will be under the trunk seal on the drivers side.

To my knowledge "No" however they did stamp the Vin on the block and trans, the problem here is they were hand stamped and some slipped threw without getting stamped. The motor stamping (if it's there) will be on the passenger side right above the oil pan rail on a machined surface and the trans if an auto will also be on the passenger side on a raised boss above the dipstick hole on the bellhousing. I would be a little skeptical if both the rad and trunk vins are missing especially considering the trunk gutters are almost never beyond repair. The one in the trunk often requires pulling the seal back. Neither my block or trans got stamped so I can't say exactly what is on them but I would assume it isn't the full VIN?

Here is a reference to make sure you are checking the right area in the trunk for the VIN.

Thanks for the input so far guys I know on my 70 Challenger there is a body number stamped on the top of the firewall drivers side was hoping the b bodys did the same thing.

Use a mirror under the trunk weatherstrip rail. You should be able to see it. This car sounds suspect.

Does it have fender tags or fender tag? I think on the A12 site it was agreed that no A12 had more than one tag because most options were not available on the A12.

It has nothing to do with A12's or the number of options...It had to do with the plant. LR just didn't code enough items to use two tags.
