What did you do to your Mopar today?

Well last night I loosened up roller rockers on number 1 to make sure they were closed so I could run another compression test on number 1 using the Katech whistler. The first time I tried it there was almost immediate leak down and machine registered hardly any compression. Thought due to excessive engine tightness, pistons too tight rings , lands messed up. After some research before pulling motor, I tried again.

Results this time: got it loosened up, ran test, got a good reading, 8:0. That was it. It would explain a ton. Low compression for sure.

Readjusted all rockers to make sure weren't too tight, tried a quick run and not much better. Time for the stroked 400!!! I have the block all ready!!

Thanks to FBBO member Digger1658! Top notch guy! THANKS!!

Got it out.

Got part of a 2013 Challenger parts car so I can do work on my '67 Belvedere Converti

Picked this up at the salvage yard, a section of a 2013 Challenger that had rolled, so I can get some metal off it for my interior . . .

I got the front buckets and rear seats from a 2014 Challenger, and I need the metal under the rear seats to support them . . . now I can cut what I need from the donor car and make it fit in my car and support the rear seats as needed ! ! !

Got the evans coolant all done, working on swapping out the lifters, and getting ready for the TTI 2" header install this week.

Got my vertical mount coil bracket from Mancini and changed my coil from horizontal to vertical right beside my carb.....im reading that with higher temps under the hood these oil filled coils should be vertical............just saying.........or maybe I'm just bored because it's winter

Today I cut out the spare tire well. I then sliced the sides of the well and flattened it. Trimmed the edges off and clamped the remains into place on the trunk floor. So, now it will have a semi flat floor with the stock spare tire mount flange in the center. Needs some more trimming and bending and cutting filler wedges to fill in the now flat curved pieces and weld her up.

I am going thru my car with a fine tooth comb before I deem it track worthy and I found a loose lug stud. Appears the previous owner decided to weld a undersized stud into place and not doing the work correctly. I went ahead and ordered all new 3" studs .685 knurl and the corresponding drill bit. Why do something half assed as that. I understand hitting them as insurance with a weld. They were using studs with knurls that was much too small. I bought over sized ones and I hope to do it correctly.

Placed the new rocker trim across the engine bay top rails till I feel like putting them away.

Replaced the 3/8 powersteering return hose with 11/32 powersteering return hose. Tighter fit hopfully this will stop the leak

Positioned and mounted the front seats, fit the back-up lights and final seam sealing before priminng the chassis.image.jpgimage.jpg

Walked past them and asked them if they had enough blankets on them to stay warm for the frigid night ahead...uhhh no response, must of been asleep.:sleepy5::sleepy5:

I've been wanting to change my 63 transmission strainer to a Dacron filter for some time now and finally got it done yesterday. Had been gathering the right parts, late model trans pan from Moparmarks and early model filter we found at a Dodge dealer in Duncannon Pa.(3621456)SAM_1362.jpg

Finally got the fan shroud installed, along with new upper, lower rad hoses, both fan belts and new thermostat. Here's to hoping there are no leaks!WP_20150117_001.jpgWP_20150117_002.jpgWP_20150117_006.jpgWP_20150117_007.jpgWP_20150117_010.jpg

I decided to tackle the dash wiring harness today. We found a new M&H harness in a box in the trunk when the car was delivered. I've been a little leery of doing it but after reading multiple posts on the forum I just went at it. Fairly painless after all.

Taking steering column apart apart tomorrow to put the new turn signal switch in and putting the new steering wheel on it at the same time.

Didnt take any pics today but I will get some of the new harness tomorrow before stuff goes back together.
