I know it's kind of a longshot as our membership here is all over the place, but can anyone recommend a good mopar-savvy trans builder in/around/anywhere within 100 miles of Fresno area in central Ca? Buddy I used to run with had a freind that he swore by but that was 20 years ago and I can't remember who it was....any input is appreciated! Looking to get the 727 done up right this winter....

Overbys Transmission - located in Fullerton, CA. 562-691-7144. They specialize in old cars. I'm sure they can handle a 727. Give them a call. They come highly recommended. I'm not sure about the 100 miles but can't be much further.

Thanks! Fullerton's a little farther than I want to go but I'll definitely keep them in mind just in case..

Hanford Auto Dismantling, they rebuilt my dad's bb 727 and they did good job.

Try: Ralphs Transmission shop. (209) 526-1909

They were always a very good rebuilder.
There is another one that is even better, but I cannot remember the name. I think I still have the card out in the garage. I'll look tomorrow afternoon after work.

250 miles to Art Carr's shop in Huntington Beach.

180 miles to ATO in Ranch Cordova.

In Lancaster is Pro Trans. One of the countries main places for the best stock, super stock, hemi, desert truck etc trans builders.

Anything south of Bakersfield is 4 hours or more 1 way.

Moore's Automotive in Atwater. I've known Jim for about 25 years now. He's rebuilt both of my cars' transmission, top notch guy.

Bean & Mike.

I have to give a thumbs down on Ralph's in Modesto. I think when Ralph had the business they were pretty good. I left the '63 there to have the valve body switched from
full manual to auto. When I went to pick it up there was a soft ball sized dent in the drivers side upper 1/4 right below the 1/4 window, right down to the metal. Gave me
some BS about the owner fell against it and dented it. He would have had to fall against
it with BFH to make that dent. Their attitude was kind of a "oh well, poop happens". )
They sent it to a body shop down the street and they did a "fair" job on the repair, but the point was, the metals no longer original. Then after all that, they wouldn't take a
personal check. Their quote was, after he dented it, "the owner won't take personal check". So I had to drive to the bank to get money out of savings. All this wouldn't have been an issue, and I could have pursued it further except we were moving to AZ that day. I gave them about 3 weeks to do everything and yet went to the wire. They'll treat
your collector car just like anybody's Toyota.

PM me. I have the best torquefliteam guy around right here in Oakhurst 40 miles north of Fresno. He built my tranny. Car goes 10.30s at 129mph....over 100 runs on the tranny and still.perfect

I knew Mike would know someone close by!
