Hey guys, really excited here about a new purchase. My dad just turned 75 and is obviously retired, therefore on a fixed income. He really likes all my cars and wanted a older driver that he could play with. After some exhausting searches, we found that anything he could afford was at a condition that I was gonna need to work on it for a while to get it reliable. As a Mopar was out of his price range and because I don’t want anything else in my garage but a Mopar, I needed to look elsewhere. Anyway, we found a 1957 Ford that is an older restoration but solid and drivable as is. Unfortunately that too was out of his price range. Well, long story short, the wife and I surprised him by telling him we would pony up half the cost. It melted my heart when he cried after I loaded it up.
Just wanted to share with y’all.

Only thing I wanna do is get some sort of power steering. Maybe an electric assist if I can find something easy. F6B4C6C6-6892-4F0C-B925-595209C71578.jpeg

It may not be a Mopar, but I like it. That is a cool *** cruiser. Congratulations to you and your Dad. Happy cruising my friend.

57 Fords are cool. I always wanted a red and white fairlane Fardtop. Stopped at a gas station tonight, and a guy was there with a beautiful blue and white 57 Ranchero...

Awww, she's a sweetheart. :)
You've got a good heart, son!

My grandfather had one just like that !
Very cool

You are a great son and I bet your dad is an awesome guy! Just need for you to post a picture with your dad driving that sweet ride

You're a good son !!!! Love the blue and white combo ( yes, I'm biased) !!!!

Read an article on the net about a guy who modded his column on one of these 57 fords and put in electric power steering using a Toyota yaris EPS motor.

57 was arguable the best looking ford since the new 49 fords came out.
I would paint the steel wheels on it and add dog dish caps.

Very cool. My uncle had a red & white just like that. Great story. Congrats!!:thumbsup::steering:

Nice one. Check that the front end is lubricated, it can make a big difference in steering effort.

thats cool your a good son hope he drives the wheels off of it
