Location
NZ - just short of the South Pole
asking for a friend. My Tire guy and his brothers are headed up to SEMA in a couple of weeks, and I suggested I could ask about great places for them to visit on their journey.

They are headed to Los Angeles area, then up to Vegas for SEMA. Next they fly up to Chicago, and visit around Detroit and surrounding areas.

The guys will be in the States at the middle of October through to early November.
Any good suggestions welcome here ....thanks.

I have already told them about visiting the Gilmore Museum......apparently there is a really cool black GTX worth taking a glance at. :D

Is the Petersen Museum in LA still good? they are lined up to go there also.

Not a car site - but the Getty Museum is also a good stop. Venice Beach and the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica are always good. Lots of tourists. All are in the LA area and big draws.

Pomona for the NHRA drag races, if they are still in the area

it's later in the month of Nov. 14-17 thou

but;
Vegas NHRA race is Oct. 31 - Nov 3

In the Detroit area, the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village is a great way to spend a day, if they’re into history.

Henry Ford museum is well worth the visit while in the Detroit area, many cool cars with 0 miles, muscle cars, and great auto history displays

Have them stop in Denver or Colorado Springs. I'll host them and show them some crazy mountains. The high country may have snow by then.

When they get to Chicago, hit all the Museums and then take in all the great food. They have to try a Chicago style Hot Dog but tell them to not ask for Ketchup or put it on one as that is a No No and they will be ridiculed for it. Chicago Italian Beef as well. Check out Portillos or Giordano Pizzas are a must. It will be colder than they might be used to so bring a warm coat/jacket. If the Bears are in town, try and catch a US Football game. Finally the must try an Old Style Beer. A Chicago favorite to say the least...cr8crshr/Bill :thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

From Vegas there is a lot to do down in Arizona if they want to spend a day or two in the desert south west. Go to Page Arizona and take guided trip to Antelope Canyon. Ill put up a pic of it. In Page Arizona they can go on a Jeep ride tour, see Horse Shoe bend of the Colorado river. Then go down and see the Grand Canyon. Tour the U.S. mother road, the original RT 66 through Winslow and stop on the corner for pictures. Then go to the painted desert. Meteor crater is right there too.

Walk through here Antelope Canyon, in Page Arizona.

Rainbow bridge, This is accessible only from a boat ride across Lake Powell, in Page Arizona.

Not a Mopar trip, but a memorable one just as well (today)!
