Hadn't had the Coronet out for a nice Sunday drive since October, when I drove it on the Hot Rod Hundred. That was a 345-mile day that was great! Had big problems with the brakes about ten miles from home, so after a bit of time afterward troubleshooting, the fronts were out and the rears weren't engaging 100%. Master cylinder was out. Yay.

Since I had the Imperial and D100 to drive and enjoy, I wasn't in a big hurry to fix it. Fixed it a couple of weeks back, it was time to put fresh gas in and drive somewhere. Route 66 is very close-by. Drove the '66 on 66 for a bit, hit a couple of State highways on the way home, and put about 135 miles on her today. It was 96 degrees out. No working air in a car with black interior and top. No tunes...just the sweet sounds of the big block, doing her thing smoothly and perfectly. Very little traffic. Just a perfect day to enjoy the car.

145 miles on the tank, 11.1 gallons, 13.06 mpg. I'm happy with that.

Glad you got to go on a nice drive. Beautiful piece of history you have and lots of smiles with the miles. These cars were built to be driven.

I used to be a framing carpenter and I’m damn glad I didn’t have to build that barn roof !
Love the Coronet !
Same color as my 69 Coronet so I am biased :)

Looks like a great day for a drive.... That barn is very cool.. Wish I had gone for a drive too... Had to work...

When I was young Dad drove by a round barn on one of our regular trips. He always related how a man went insane in the barn looking for a corner to pee in!
