Jerry Hall

Good lord, this is something I was not expecting to read this morning. Why does it always seem like the good people get crapped on all the time. Hoping all is going well with you and the wife Jerry, my thoughts and prayers are being sent to both of you for a speedy recovery! Get well soon.

Jerry, hope you and your wife both get well soon. We need all the 66/67 fans on here we can get. Seriously, get well!

Thanks all for your prayers and well wishes. My wife and I have been fighting hard from February 13th. We both woke that morning and basically couldn't walk. After about 4 hours, I managed to be able to hobble around enough to get her some help and make a doctor's appointment for myself. My problem ended up being cellulitis in my left leg. My wife's problem was much worse. She was immediately on a walker or wheelchair. After several visits to the pain center, with little to no help an appointment was made with a back surgeon. At this time I'm about 80% back to normal and able to get her to all doctors appointments, do the shopping, and prepare meals, etc. My wife went through back surgery just fine, but full recovery and walking without a walker hasn't happened yet although she is getting better. Everything rocked along pretty good until June 12. That morning I woke with severe pain in my right leg, and it was quite different to me than what I had in my left leg. My wife's PT person showed up on schedule which she gets 3 times a week. He looked and felt of my leg and told me although he wasn't a doctor that I had the classic signs of a blood clot. So that afternoon I get a friend to take me to the ER. By 9:00 that night I'm in a hospital room. They determine that it's cellulitis in my right leg. Come to find out there are 3 bacteria that cause this. They treat me for 2 1/2 days on an antibiotic that covers 2 of the three, and the infection continues to spread. Then they add a second antibiotic that covers what is actually hurting me. Long story short is after 8 days in the hospital that I walked into, I'm wheeled out to negotiate around on a walker. My stepson came up and attended to my wife (his mother), but left this morning to return home in FL, as he is out of time off from work. We are deciding what kind of help we need compared to what we can afford and taking it a day at the time.
Thanks friends.

Sounds like scary stuff. Hopefully it all works itself out so you and your wife can enjoy your summer.

Jerry, wow what a hit, you and your wife get knocked down like that at the same time? Man o man that can't be easy.
I'm sure I speak for all of us here, I'm glad you and your wife are seemingly on the mend and we hope the end of these obstacles is in sight very soon.
Thanks for checking back in with us.
A lot of concerned folks around here pulling for you two:thumbsup:
And send mama our regards!

This is what I left the hospital with yesterday afternoon. The art work is the doctor's idea of keeping up with progress, good or bad.

Not to pry too much, but what brought this stuff on ?
was there any warning signs ?
was her back related to the same affliction ?
how was it you (or both ?) were exposed to the bacteria ?
by an injury, open wound or water born stuff ?
something in your environment etc. ?

I've just never heard of it
you don't need to answer I'm just curious

& :praying: get well soon :luvplace:

Just read about you and your wife’s fortunes. We wish both of you a speedy recovery. I am very susceptible to infection. Have had cellulitis a few times. Once I believe it was a horsefly bite. Sometimes I get almost delirious according to my wife.
I know the signs of it starting. Our doctor prescribed antibiotics for me, which I keep on hand. Start them then head for emergency if necessary.
