thanks, kinda scary cutting the braces out, used some self tapping drywall screws to hold the new steel in place, being twice as long I'm hoping the bow doesn't come back.
Picked up a new Battery Tray for the Charger!
It didn't have one in the past, just some old jury rigged piece of rusty sheet metal that was sorta welded on there.
Strapped up all the fuel lines today after lunch. Fuel system is complete now, ready for test and leak checks.
I also put my gravel guard on the 3/8 CUNI hard lines running under the chassis. Like I told the fellas on the 1st Gen site, I used a 1" Electrical Shrink Tubing for that... the Heavy Duty stuff with the adhesive liner inside for industrial/Outdoor buried connections, etc...
Installing new belt weatherstrips and door channel, cleaning and lubricating latches, lubricating the window regulators, tracks, etc. and reinstalling glass.
First two bolts I touched - top of the right rear shock, above the tailpipe, and 3" from the fuel tank - snapped. Didn't want to use the torch that close to the tank....but I did on the left side so nothing else would snap. Carefully. And it worked.
I had to hole saw thru the trunk floor to drill out one of the broken bolts. I matched the size of existing floor plugs elsewhere in the Jeep, and put a plug in it when I was finished drilling and tapping.
Had to use the torch on the front tops as well, stupid threaded-rod-with-a-top-nut design.....but finally managed to get it all together and it DOES ride better. We'll see if I get the death wobble again....if I do, control arm time.
I fired the parts cannon at the Grand Cherokee hoping to resolve the annoying evap system small leak code. I put in a new PCV while I was at it since it's at 76k miles. What a PITA on a 3.6. I stuck a 3/8 bolt in the end of the new PCV to get enough leverage to twist it in.
