Bought a stud kit for a sb engine, the rear stud is short of bottoming out in the block and the nut is nearly too tall for oil pump clearance, was going to contact ARP about a longer stud and a shorter nut and washer to clear the oil pump, figured I'd throw it out there to see what others have come up with, the engine had a stud kit in it when I got it and is obvious missing the stock bolt, and not sure if that would be a good idea to just get a bolt with studding the rest of it. Thanks in advance.

The studs under the oil pump should be replaced with a bolt with a short head to clear the pump. They usually come in the stud kit for the rear main cap. If you did not get them, contact ARP and they can get them and should be less than $15 for two bolts and washers. As a side note, the bolts have a flange on the head, so you don't have to use the washer if it makes it too tall.

called ARP yesterday told them my issue, sent them to me for free, I was shocked thanks ARP, customer service is still alive.

Mine was too long, had to cut to fit. Evidently some discrepancy in kits.
