Hey, Charlie, looks like a nice cam grind.

I didn't see info about the valve springs and what arms you are using...

Hey Charlie, Is your oil pump stock, and your oil pan? Will the oil pump off my 383 work on the 400/512 and be good enough? Going to get my 400 block this weekend.

the oil pumps are interchangeable,i went with a high volume pump because i have the edm lifters& pushrod oiling & that will use up some of the volume, the pan is a 7qt pan. prayin you are doin ok KID!!

ordered pushrods & waited 2 weeks just to get the wrong ones, called & said send them back & oooppps they must have made a mistake. thats all i have been waiting on to get this installed in the car ..

You look like you've done this before, motor looks great CDR!

Hey Devin thanks, I have been around this stuff for many years & made many mistakes but it has been a blast !!!!

I'm going to go read some Mike Gaines stuff.

Just curious, why did you decide on the super stealths? I paid 2000 for the cnc'd stealth s that flow 320 @600. I don't know what the super stealths cost or what the advantage are?

hey bobtile i bought the super s when they 1st cam out & the advertisement made it sound like you could install bigger valves easily,
well the ad was misleading, well they were 500.00 each & i should have sent them back when i saw how the seats overlaped but i could not afford victors, I have done lots of head porting so i decided to see what i could get out of them & they flow more than i really need for a street engine, originally this was going to be more race car than street but due to my health if i wanted to keep my charger i had to sell my other vehicles so,,,, the charger is my daily driver, not that i drive that much. :)
as per 440 source
These heads are sold BARE ONLY. This is because we sell them as a rough starting point for your cylinder head tech, depending on how far you want to go with them. You might want to do a 2.14" intake valve, or maybe a 2.19", or maybe even bigger? You might want to give them a light cleanup, or go with a full out porting, for maximum power. This approach also allows your cylinder head tech to do the valve job exactly how he wants, set guide clearance, and assemble with the correct springs and other hardware to match your camshaft. These are a starting point to be incorporated into your build, not a bolt on, ready to go deal. For this reason, we don't list flow numbers, port CC's, etc, since this will all vary depending on the work you have done. We can say we have had dozens of folks make upwards of 725 horsepower with our regular Stealth heads, and preliminary testing has shown these heads have far more potential than our regular Stealths. With this setup, and the right combination, you could easily expect an additional 100-150 horsepower or more over our regular Stealths.

also bob my flow bench is VERY stingy

Bobtile here's both links you can compare them yourself
440source

Edelbrock
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/mc/cylinder-heads/chrysler/victor-bb.shtml

cdr please don't take what I say as a dig on you or your combo, it's not meant to be...

Edelbrock Victor is a better starting point, for a middle of the road cost/racing
or even great street aluminum head...
{IMO better finished ported head, probably less hassle/overall to get them to a higher performance level too},
Albeit they are more initial $$$, they are raised port design,
redesigned combustion chamber, for better flame travel/full fuel burn
& they need offset rockers too,
BUT it's money well spent, especially if your a professional cylinder-head guy
& do your own porting & machining...

There are better heads out there for Big CI combos, on "full on race engines" too,
but they are allot more money too...

Victors are really good middle of the road alum. heads, for dual use or race app.'s
our esteemed IQ52 can attest to that fact,
especially in the proper hands, with the proper combo/parts

440source sells the Super Stealth bare right now for $399 each {that's cheap}
& they are a straight plug design closed 80cc Combustion Chamber,
with larger "raise exhaust ports in std. height exhaust mounting locations,
they're much more of a "stock appearing" head, especially when painted

Vs the Victor 72 cc redesigned heart shaped closed combustion chamber & angle plugs,
280cc std. - raised .650" 290cc intake
both versions with 100cc .250" raised exhaust ports
that "allegedly" flow 322cfm int./219cfm ex. @ 600" valve lift
with 2.19" int. & 1.81" ex. valve & seats out of the box, before any porting
they can been had in CNC ported configuration too...

got the correct pushrods today, they sent them overnight, valves are adjusted & oil pump is primed, next the car goes to my friends shop, Corliss automotive in Katy Tx, & the engine swap begins, the owner Brad is helping me do this swap cause there is no way i could do this myself, Feeling truly blessed!!!!

Shout out to Trend performance for correcting the push rod problem !!!!

Wow, yea it looks like it's finished, or needs some TLC anyway.. lol ..
You are going to keep/store it I assume, being the original?
Can't wait to see the new one in..

yes i will keep it & as time goes on and i find good deals, i will collect parts to do a stock hp type rebuild on it.

The old 383 took me 700 AWESOME miles , it was VERY good therapy for me, i love my car , I am truly blessed !!!!

marked the intake to match the heads,i only raised the roof ,none on the floor
