A new fast ratio replacement PS gear

If you go on their website, I get the impression they do quite a bit of business with Ford. Maybe from that? Ask them.

Interested in the looseness and play off center.
And the overall precision of it.

You made a lot of other cool upgrades too, I bet it feels like a totally different car.
Steve, I'll find you next month so you can check it out yourself.

You're not making any sense.

I put in a 11033, did you use the 11043 or the 33? The coupler for me was fine, I did notice it wouldn’t go up as far on the pitman arm, but I was able to torque it up and everything is tight.

sorry for not makeing it clear the coupler was 1in short of going all the way down the splines and the pitman arm wont go near as far up the pitman shaft as on my oem steering box

On my wagon, 67, I put in the 11033 Lares box too. On the Pittman arm, they will not bottom out due to tapered fit. Both the arm and the shaft are tapered. When I got the nut cinched down, there is maybe one thread showing. As long as you have that, you're good to go. Are you using or re-using the skinny nut? On the coupler, you may need to loosen up the column on the dash to let it slide towards the engine some. The gal I was emailing with from Lares mentioned I may need to do some adjustments there. On mine when I took the old box out, I had to pull the column back some to get clearance between the coupler and shaft. Assembly was reverse of that. And on my car with Hedman headers on a 440, I had to thump #3 and #5 tubes. 3 for the box, 5 for the coupler. Also the coupler was a little tight sliding down on the input shaft. A little help from a dead blow helped. Got it down so the roll pin could go back in.

thanks iam a big mopar guy changed my 68 charger r/t from manual to power never had so much hassle had my 70 cuda box upgraded to no problem this lares 11043 is real tight at center left or right then spins freely
